I hope Tcu gets in and wins out. Smaller school stomping out a few of the perennial powerhouses would be nice.

Agree with your order. But because of the way it looks moving jumping Fsu. I could see OREGON jump bama and give you the same games

1 Oregon - 4 OSU rose
2 Bama - 3 FSU sugar

There is just no way the CFP walks from these games.

Man Art Briles is not happy with their commissioner. Apparently the commissioner said they're gonna present Baylor to the committee as co-champs and Briles pointed out the "One True Champion" slogan and started saying the commissioner can't talk about one true champion one week and then the next just go out the backdoor instead of the front

I missed this. When did it happen??? That's gold right there.

I want to hear the committee justify dropping the team they had 3rd to 5th while winning by 50 points.

That win by OSU makes it close but you can't compare the OSU and TCU losses.

The politics in this thing is gonna make people sick.

They hedged their bets last time by keeping the cushion of FSU between OSU and TCU and putting Baylor after OSU.

Baylor=screwed

Do they use the conference champion card to make the politically friendly move and jump OSU up or do they take advantage of the FSU barrier they created and leave TCU?

In their post game press conference. They showed clip on the post-game show after the Big 10 championship. Briles looked incredibly pissed, apparently after the game the conference commissioner basically told them they're co-champs. The part that makes it even more rich is that the conference commissioner has said that if neither team gets into the playoffs, they'll use the head-to-head to determine the conference champion for the big 6 bowl selection. You can't make this shite up.

Big XII commissioner:
quote:

"'One True Champion' is really about everybody playing everybody," Bowlsby said. "A loss is a loss, a win is a win. We believe that playing everyone every year is the right way to determine a champion, even if ends in a tie."

Another great comment of his:
quote:

“There’s risks to playing the conference championship game,” Bowlsby told FOX Sports earlier this season. “Your best team might not be the team that wins.”

conference champion card

It's coming. They've also said they try and ignore the previous weeks ranking ( right...). They also said they haven't had to take the Baylor-TCU head to head into account yet. That could mean they considered TCU's win over Kansas State as big enough to put TCU ahead and were just waiting to see how Baylor would do vs Kansas State...which would still be bullshite.

Here's Briles' comments from the post game press conference. Couldn't find the video but it'll end up out there cause I saw it on TV earlier too.

quote:

“If you’re gonna slogan around and say ‘one true champion’ and all of the sudden you’re going out the backdoor instead of the front? Don’t say one thing and do another,”

That is some BS. Like they didn't have a tie breaker in place? (That is all over the internet) Ethically trying to back door TCU a conf title to get them in the playoffs is some crap. That makes me hope the committee uses the actual title game of OSU to put them in.

Yea I really think they thought it would give them the opportunity to try and get 2 teams in by not declaring one as the champ, they can now argue both as champs. No clue why teams leave that conference the first chance they get...

I also don't like that the playoff selection is the day after the conference championship games. People get too caught up in the emotion of things such as "oh my god OSU is the best team I've ever seen!!!!" and a season's worth of work by other teams is being ignored because OSU just blasted Wisconsin in an admittedly very dominant performance.

But the Big XII made their bed and now they get to lie in it.

I'm not saying it's right.

However the committee has said from the beginning and each and every week , that the start over each week and compare all teams. And based on how their rankings have been released , they have stayed true to that.

Remember , this is not a poll. This is who the committee thinks the top 4 teams are based on each weeks performance. They also have said that head to head and Conf champs has not come into place yet and wouldn't until there are Conf champs. They have said this each week, and jus because people want to think this works like a poll and not listen, is not their fault. They could just as easily come out today and say these are the top 4 after their season is complete.

1. FSU 13-0
2. Oregon 12-1
3. OSU 12-1
4. BAMA 12-1
5. Baylor 11-1
6. TCU 11-1
( this is an example only)

I just think everyone has gotten caught up and think this is a poll, it's not. It's a new ranking each week.

If they come out with a O-OSU. rose , FSU-BAMA sugar; tell me who's hojng to be upset other than FSU ( being scared)

Sugar bowl is happy
Rose bowl is happy
All 4 fan bases are happy
Jameis and Jimbo are wetting themselves
CFP makes money money money.

The B12 has no one to blame but themselves, they were trying to leverage themselves to get 2 teams into the 6 bowl games, which will happen, however Baylor and TCU NC dreams get screwed.

I think the committee is in a tough spot. OSU victory of Wisconsin was the most impressive win yesterday IMO. I hate Urban, but it’s tough to leave them out. If I were in one of those seats, objectively speaking, there is no way OSU doesn’t qualify for the 4-team playoff. The BIG12 needs a championship game...

Strength of Schedule:
Baylor: 115th
TCU: 91th
OSU: 51th

Loss:
Baylor: L @WV (RPI: 37th)
TCU: L @Baylor (RPI: 6th)
OSU: L VA Tech (RPI: 59th)

Summary:
---Baylor defeated 3 teams that finished top 25 RPI. They have a terrible OOC, so I think they should be eliminated
---TCU defeated 2 teams that finished top 25 RPI. They played 1 more game than Baylor against a power 5 OOC opponent (Minnesota). However, they lost H2H against the Bears, so it’s hard to make an argument for them.
---Ohio St defeated 2 top 25 RPI teams. They won their conference outright. They lost to their only Power 5 OOC team (VaTech). Let’s be honest, of the 3 three, they will attract more revenue. That’s what it’s all about.

I’ve been saying this from the get go, we should let the computers decide the playoff. Now we have emotions going into a selection that determines who plays for a NC. I think that was a mistake, and 2 teams will be tearing this new process apart, with good reason.

My problem with OSU is their loss to Virginia Tech. Even though it happened, at the begging of the season, it still happened. It is still the worst loss out of the top 6 teams and it isn't even close. Yes, they played great yesterday, but what makes us think Wisconsin is that good. They lost to Northwestern.

Va Tech had one of the better defenses out there & then they gave up midway through the season after a couple of losses

O/U on how long before the Big XII adds new teams and a conference championship? Jeff Long basically just said not having a conference championship and having co-champions hurt TCU and Baylor.

Yeah I was just saying the same thing to my brother. Lack of a championship game hurt their chances.
