Auburn's Awful RB Situation You guys do know that this was a proposed rule that was tabled until next year, right?
They are breaking the current rules. Since it has been brought to that level, I will assume they will be enforcing it better. I may be wrong. I hope not.

If we can beat them this season they will join the "at least 10 losses to Richt club"
Tennessee, Georgia Tech, Vandy and Kentucky are already members.
Can't think of a better member than the backup school.

and is a much better passer than Nick Marshall
I've seen a lot of people saying this, and it may well be true, but why didn't he start last year?
Marshall obviously had more experience and is much faster and the better runner which definitely enhances Gus's option offense. This is why they might well have a more pass oriented offense this season. Still, Johnson at 6'5" and 240lbs will be a punishing runner when he gets some blocking. The key for Auburn might well be their OL play rather than their apparent lack of quality RB's; there are many adequate RB's who can run behind a road grading OL.

The Johnson kid. Marshall was a better threat with his legs and a good passer so he's probably a better fit for Gus' system. The new kid is big and has a great arm but isn't very dynamic as a runner so he doesn't pose the same threat in the option. I bet Richt would do great things with him.

Probably true; Johnson seems better suited to Richt's offense than Malzahn's. I really wish we could get one of these huge athletic QB's that seem to do so well at other schools. Someone like Johnson would be killer in Richt's offense.

It would be a waste. Richt likes to coach them to stay in the pocket. Murray was very athletic but after his freshman year he didn't do a lot of running. He was effective when he did, I was sad when he ran the offense well enough to stay in the pocket and do his job.

Look at H Mason last season, he is no scrambler or fast qb, but he still had 4 tds rushing the ball.

Any qb that we have CAN run when needed. Mason's TD's were all very close to the goal line. It's not like he was scrambling 30+ yards.

I thought Ramsey didn't have moves like Faton and Park. And we still call qb draws and give the option to run on some of the hand offs, so we do run w/ the qb, but not a lot.
