Any thoughts on the Caleb Williams to UGA or “insert school” rumors circulating?

Caleb would be the best QB Kirby has ever pulled in. Imagine a world where Caleb has Bowers/Mitchell/Burton/Ladd/Washington to throw to.

If getting Caleb made Gunner and Vandagriff transfer would you be ok with that?

The transfer portal is changing everything. Expect the unexpected.

I think going from Rileys take all the risk you want to Smarts take risk only when necessary in the passing, it could be a disaster.

But Caleb is the highest graded Freshman this year and is a known commodity.

I think stocton will make some noise just because of his drive.

I could see BVG and Beck hitting the door, but it would be very short-sighted on their part. I think Gunner's here to stay.

I seriously doubt it. Just some message board BS.

I am guessing he won't be with us next season. I hope he is, and I haven't heard anything but....

It's worth noting that Williams isn't even in the portal. Scuttlebutt that I saw (100% baseless, btw) was that some obnoxious NIL deal to the tune of $2M was in play.

Take that with a bag of rock salt.

I really hope Monken finds a way to keep him on the field and getting proper targets, even if it meant making Bowers a proper slot WR.

With the way Bowers has played I would imagine he might look elsewhere but I would love to have him in two tight end sets. He's a mismatch at all times.

Where is this coming from? I get that he's not the featured
TE but this is still a very TE -centric offense and he's invaluable as a blocker especially in the red zone.

Now if Monken leaves (God forbid) all bets are off.

My guess is that it's someone talking out of their arse. Never have seen anything other than message board bullshite.

Seen it suggested someone on the Te depthchart will likely transfer. I think people are inferring it's Washington and not Seither.

it's not even remotely close to true. We already have 3 5* on the roster for next year as of now, why the frick would 1)we want caleb 2)he want to come here?

The only reason people are saying this is because some other message board tard mentioned it and for some reason other boards started reporting it as if it had merit. He isn't coming here.

It has been strongly hinted that DW0 was extremely close to transferring late last season, and was not happy with his usage/lack of targets. Given that we have not increased his targets and in the meantime, Bowers has had the season that he has, it's a fair leap to think that he might be the TE that's looking elsewhere. Unfortunately, the hints have been strong that it might be to Tuscaloosa that he's leaning which would be less than ideal.

You asked for thoughts.

I don't like the idea of paying Caleb Williams a rumored 2 million dollar NIL deal when we have have Vandagriff and Stockton on campus. Bothers the hell out of me. But I am probably in the minority.

Hey Voxdawg. you have 40+ thousand posts and i've never noticed you before. Crazy. You must not post much infammatory 'notice me' posts.

Anyway. Previously schools weren't allowed to 'tamper' with other schools' players. But you infer an interesting point. If school A really wanted a player at school B could they have a sponsor reach out to him and say 'hey, look what we got for you'?

I'm all for the NIL. It's just common sense. But it's going to shake up college football in ways that we are just coming to grips with.

It's obvious that money can move the dial. Look at Ok St. Look at Oregon. Both of those programs were nothing until rich alumni went all in with them. I'm pretty sure the haves will still be the haves and will cherry pick, but NIL puts a whole nother wrinkle out there where it comes to building programs.

Looks like he might be Georgia bound. I don't understand it especially with BV coming out the same class. Kirby and Monken must not trust any of the QB's on the roster aside from Stetson.
