When we drew Izzo we all knew what the answer would be.

Dang. Good season with a pretty crappy end result. We gotta start pulling in some good recruits to make us a little deeper, but Izzo and co. is always going to be a tough out in March and we played them tough for a while.

Surprisingly, there were some on this board who thought Michigan State and Izzo were overrated. I won't name names, but I can think of one immediately off the top of my head.

MO, this game is showing how well coached UGA actually is. The three best players on the floor are all wearing white (Dawson, Valentine, Trice) but UGA has been right there for a lot of this game.

Agree with this. Fox's problem is lack of talent not coaching. Unfortunately he's also responsible for recruiting.

Mann was hacked on the fro!

No foul call is BS.

UGA played hard but ultimately blew it. So many missed layups and foul shots.

Yep, this team plays some pretty tough defense but we just don't have enough talented shooters to hang with a team like MSU.

We didn't shoot well and we missed so many point blank chances.

Yep, and that's part of the difference in talent. A talented/natural shooter maintains concentration and strokes it in with just the right intensity and accuracy regardless of pressure by the defense. Mann and Gaines are good at slashing to the basket but more often than not they miss those shots. And then when we aren't hitting the free-throws, we really are screwed.

Kind of scared next year with Maten and Forte being our frontcourt. Going to really miss Nemi and Thornton. We have any decent post players coming in?

I'm excited about Maten and how he progresses. If he can be more consistent, I think he can be a star. He certainly has the skill-set.

Forte scares the shite out of me.

We have a somewhat undersized center (6'8) coming in but that's it.

For as much crap as most of us give Mann he actually played really well today other than a couple forced shots. The turnovers in the first half were hard to recover from and unfortunately we didn't take advantage of the couple possessions midway through the second half that could have given us the lead.

This won't suck so bad when Michigan State wins the region. At least we didn't lose to a shitty team

It just doesn't seem that complicated...
God,I've never seen a team miss so many layups and 3 to 5 foot runners in my life. Auburn,Arkansas and MSU losses all seemed like
the same game...

Thornton was 6'8", too, but held his own pretty well this past year.

We also have a 6'7" forward coming in out of Texas and we're still in it for a 6'10" center out of Michigan. We definitely need to add another post player in the 2015 class.
