I think a lot of the guys from Georgia are going to start bailing off that ship.

We need to keep rolling this season. If we could churn out an 11-1, top-10 finish type of season, we could absolutely rake it in these next two classes.

Especially with FSU looking like garbage so far.

It is funny how when we aren't doing as hot, fans are like: players wanna come to UGA to turn the ship around or they are going there to play regardless of the record this season, etc.

Now it's....if we can go 11-1 or 12-0, we will really pour it on in the recruiting.

I think it's true both ways to an extent, but just humorous to see the spin

The percentage of players who want to play for a winner is much higher than the Jamyest Williams, "I'm gonna make my own way and be THE man" crowd.

We got recruits last year because Kirby could pitch hope for what he was going to do with the program and he didn't have to have on-field results to support that hope because it was year 1.

Now that it's year 2, we have to show an ability to be nationally competitive if we want to get swaths of top recruits like we did in the 17 class.

This is only true with a select few players. No player wants to lose 5-6 games every year that they are in high school. That's why 11-1 or 12-0 teams get most of the big names. They want to be winners plain and simple. They want to play for the best, and also play with the best. Look who kills it in recruiting Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, Clemson. Those programs are winning programs. UGA becoming a dominant program will only sway all these UGA kids to stay in state and play for UGA

It's not just a fan thing. That's a recruiting pitch the coaches use. It's just much easier to say "come and turn things around" after Year 1. After that, a lot of the kids need to actually see improvement.

There is a very distinct period of time where the "turn the ship around" mentality is real... right after a coach gets hired or in some extenuating cases, when a team has been obliterated due to the draft (see Michigan this year even if they struggle).

In the beginning of a coaches tenure, all ails of the program are essentially the fault of the previous coach, the new coach is going to fix everything, and it's sunshine and rainbows time... not just for fans, but also for recruits... Kirby leveraged the shite out of this and nailed 2 solid recruiting classes.

At some point though, you have to actually start showing that the ship is turning... For Kirby at a school like UGA that wasn't struggling, that happened essentially a year and a half in (we can already see what 2018 guys are saying about waiting to see how we play, see the wins, etc). At a school with less "expected success" that might be a longer period of time, but take a look at Tennessee now for example. Butch had some hot recruiting classes early on, but last year and this year on the heels of not a lot of growth, it looks to be tougher sledding. Not "in the dumps" or anything, just not able to land as many of the elite players, so often settling for a lot more mid-low 3* players that are a bigger gamble.

I've done a 180 on how I feel about our chances with Owen Pappoe. It looks like we're the favorite here, coin flip with Clemson at the worst.

Add FSU Mod Chris Nee to the list of Pappoe to UGA. Nee said he spoke with a source and they said it won't be FSU of Clemson. Crazy turn of events. UGA's '19 class will be better than '17 and '18. Kirby is doing work

Serious drop. He's not going to be the only one. '19 will be a nasty class

Chatter is that it'll be sooner then later on OP. Thought his teammate was dropping a few weeks back. Could be a few. Few are trending from Grayson it seems.

I've been a UGA fan since the late 70's and I can't remember any time like what we're seeing right now. The team is playing great, we haven't looked uninspired in any game yet and we're getting pretty much whoever we want in recruiting. Everything is trending up for UGA football.

I've been a fan since the mid sixties. We have never had a great head coach before. Now our coach is a real professional who is 100% committed to winning for his school.

I had to be convinced that Kirby was the guy. I'm convinced.

You've got me beat by just a few years. I've been a fan since the mid-70s but I do agree with you. Dooley was a good coach, Richt was also a good coach. Neither was great. I'm really, really liking what I'm seeing from Kirby.

Don’t think there’s a realistic chance we get him, but 5 star WR Theo Wease is at least showing us some love via the twitter.

I wouldn’t hate pulling in the top 3 wide receivers in 2019.

Kirby needs to get Theo Wease, Jr. to visit UGA and Athens. I think he would be much happier playing here with the other top guys.
