It'd be a huge pickup at a position of need.

Would that move our class to around #4 in the 247 rankings? I can't imagine there's ever been a better class in a coaching transition year.

Looks like with the calculator it would bring us to 285.05, good for 5th.

If we were to add Herrien and McDaniel as well, brings us to 287.58, still 5th but right up against OSU for the 4 spot (they would have taken 2 more guys ~ 1.5 points).

Would be four 5* pickups, good for the most in the 2016 class. We've got some massively underrated 3*s and 4*s in this class as well, but by any standard, this year's recruiting class, the continuing efforts to pursue PWO depth and additional guys that maybe take a little more work to get in but appear to be well worth it, it has been a new level of effort.

Four 5* in a single class is unprecedented in UGA history, if I read correctly.

Anybody have any idea who? I've seen Jacoby Stevens has moved his commit date up, but I can't imagine it being this far up...malik herring and Jeremiah Holloman are the other two main ones I would think it might be

There would be a meltdown in Butchville if that happened this soon after his visit there.

Gota love NJ... LINK

quote:

Johnson is a colorful personality. He’s known for his flamboyant hairstyles and fun-loving smile. He changes the color or colors of his hairstyle with regularity. He would easily make the Top 5 of any reporter’s listing of the most engaging and fun interviews on the UGA recruiting beat. According to a few classmates, yellow is about the only color he hasn’t dyed his hair.

He’s extremely athletic and ripped off a cartwheel at a Rivals camp earlier this spring. When working at a Nike camp earlier this spring, his counselors continually referred to him as an athlete in a big man’s body.

Look for him to immediately target “his two tackles” for the Class of 2017. He said his immediate recruiting targets will be Pace Academy four-star Andrew Thomas and Brunswich four-star D’Antne Demery.

The commitment reinforces one of the building blocks for the UGA program set by Kirby Smart when he first took over as head coach. He wanted UGA to get bigger up front and the addition of Johnson certainly helps that cause.

“We are going to take over the SEC,” Johnson said. “We are going to take over from Alabama. That’s who we have to take it over from. Alabama is running things right now in the SEC and that’s who we have to take it from at Georgia.”
