I'm not going to get my hopes up but it desperately needs to happen.

I'm gonna say no as well but we need to start over. This ain't working

If CSS has any integrity he'll just resign. Fun fact: If we go 30-0 in conference play next year CSS still wouldn't have a .500 conference record.

CSS isn't resigning. It will come down to mediocre McGarity making a change. Problem is he's been such an incompetent AD, do we really want him making another hire? We're probably at least a year away from getting rid of that bum. I've come to the conclusion that we're screwed either way.

Meanwhile, Bama just fired their coach after 1 year

Well, to be fair most SEC schools don't have a cock-knocker for an AD and they're interested in winning and winning now. Bama, Auburn, LSU, Florida, frick even USC aren't worried about when happens if or when schools will have to pay players (so long as Title IX exists in it's current form, it will never happen), they know that if it ever comes to that then the boosters and other donors will step up to the plate. "Well, we allocated $2 million for a major project on Stegman/Foley/What-ever-other-venue-you-want-to-insert, which is a lot of money...", guess what, arse-dick? Every other school is launching building projects in the tens of millions of dollars to build new facilities for their 2nd and 3rd tier programs because the SEC is in the midst of an arms race. Greg must be a fricking Bernie supporter, sitting his mom's basement waiting for the governmental body to make everything "fair". The amount of ill-will I have towards that man is mind boggling.
frick YOU, GREG.

He was a proven coach at multiple schools before bama, but he also basically told all the players their scholarships weren't guaranteed next year and he was looking to replace the whole team or something.
Apparently he did not get along with admins or players, don't believe this is a "you sucked arse, you're fired" type of thing

I think it was a "you suck AND you're a dick" kind of thing.
Bama employs Saban and Pruitt. Both are colossal dicks but both do what they're paid to do.

A lot of reports circulating that only our pitching coach is being let go. It's going to be so long until we are competitive again and I'm not sure whether I'm more depressed or infuriated.

He must be a hall of fame arse-kisser. He's managed to get to a relatively powerful station in life while being a pretty ineffectual person.
Dude would be a great federal employee.

Just drove past Foley to see if the cleats really were there and they were, looks like we'll lose some guys due to Strick coming back.
Posted on 5/25/17 at 12:22 pm to SumterCoDawg
Well Gist is gone due to graduation, and Schaefer Shepard was a grad student. Still I know of a couple of guys that are going pro already so this isn't surprising.

I mean we'll lose guys other than the ones going pro/graduating. We fired the most well liked coach on staff while Stricklin is coming back.
