Mercer gets a 1 out walk, next batter doubles into the left corner, runner scores.

4-3 Mercer going into Bot 12

Mercer is 14-4 on the season, lead their conference, and have swept UGA for the second season in a row.

Meanwhile, UGA is 7-10, the only SEC team below .500.

Stricklin has to be gone, right? Or can we use this as momentum to shitcan McGarity?

Yeah but they have to live in Macon.

Why not both? Do we really want ADGM making another hire? He's been awful in that category

A team in fricking Macon is able to put together a better team with better talent than UGA has in 5 years

All that really matters is that the players tried hard and had fun.

So, who wants to put together a list of potential candidates? I'd start with mid-major coaches who currently make less than $400k/yr that we get for a steal.

My top 5

1.Scott Brown-Assistant/Pitching Coach Vanderbilt
2.Cliff Godwin-HC East Carolina
3.Brad Weitzel-Assistant at Florida(played at UGA)
4.Jack Leggett-Former HC Clemson
5.Jim Toman-Former HC Liberty

Craig Gibson, HC at Mercer, has done a great job there, but he is from Macon, and played at Mercer, so I doubt he'd leave.

Mike Sansing, HC Kennesaw State, might get a call, but he's been at Kennesaw for 27 years. Doubt he leaves.

Greg will probably go out to Oregon Park or another baseball park and find a pony league guy who will do it for $55,000 and 600 level season tickets to football games.

I hear there's this up and coming volunteer little league coach down in Jesup that will do it for next to nothing. He also understands the finer points of bathroom maintenance so Greg is planning on killing two birds with one stone and putting him to work in Sanford Stadium during the Fall

I heard they were going to try a new experimental Montessori method and just let the players coach themselves, saves money and they'd probably be better than they are now

Yes, actually hire both Gibson and Bob Hoffman for basketball.

Mercer athletics > UGA athletics.

Game vs Presbyterian just started, for some reason McGovern is playing 1st base.

Stricklin knows the jig is up, he's basically getting Jim Lahey level drunk and randomly plugging players in wherever Jim Beam tells him to. That's my theory, at least.

Video of Coach Stricklin leaving his office en route to the ball game:
