Last day of exams was Wednesday so that's pretty much expected.

Geno and Kessler should never play another minute.

I think Maten is one of the best forwards in the country. He's that good.

Oh yeah definitely, I think tech would bring it a really good crowd of it wasn't during break. Watching on TV and it doesn't look or sound like there's a home court advantage at all.

We need to keep the ball out of Mann's hands as much as we can.

Maten might be our best player purely based on consistency

Yea, among other things.

Gaines getting in to foul trouble early has hurt us.

I'm guessing Mann has the other 3...fun game to watch so far both of these teams look like tournament teams.

Mann is far and away the most overrated player I've ever seen play basketball for UGA. I think this team will fail to make a tournament this year. Just too damn young and quite frankly not that good. Definitely not consistent

Agree on both points. I think we SHOULD be a tournament team but I also think we will lose too many games we shouldn't.

Conference is tougher this year than last. Without those clutch guys like Thornton or nemi I just don't see a meaningful run. Yante has been the only consistently dominant guy on the team so far. Gaines and Frazier can be dominant but disappear for multiple games at a time. I think we'll be a solid team next year but I just don't see much to be excited about so far this year other than seeing some young guys develop

Top 30 in rpi right now which is nuts

Yeah rpi sucks blah blah but it matters to the committee for whatever reason. None of our losses are bad. We are also 68th in kenpom which is respectable enough for what we have done so far. Beating Clemson on Tuesday will be really nice for us.

Durden, no. Fox teams always start slow. This team has more depth than any uga team in the last 10 years. They are a talented bunch. Gaines, Maten and Frazier can take us a long way. 34 will only get better and I hope we see more of Turtle soon. He will be a star next year. I do wish we would limit KPG and Kesslers minutes though. Wool ridge and 34 are better players. Also, chuck is still the most frustrating player in the team

Except for last year when we started surprisingly strong and it saved our arse when we hemmed and hawed through our SEC slate toward the tourney?

Gaines, Maten and Frazier can take us a long way.

They can but there's no guarantee or consistency to prove that they will. Tons of potential on this team to make another run but they have to put it together every game; Gaines and JJ can't go disappearing for multiple games at a time. One or both need to be on.

34 will only get better and I hope we see more of Turtle soon.

The future is certainly bright with these two (as well as with Wilridge and Edwards) and they could go a long way toward giving us some hope for immediate future success.

Overall, the first half of the game against Tech seemed to be the norm for this team, looking good for stretches, disappearing for others, and managing to be down - but by a small margin - at half. What was a pleasant surprise (coming after my assessment above) was the way the team totally controlled the 2nd half against Tech. It truly displayed the potential this team has to be really fantastic and of this program to have a bright future if it can keep bringing in 4* and higher recruits. The problem is - and has been the whole time under Fox - that the team is just inconsistent. I'm encouraged by the blowout win over an archrival Fox has struggled with while at UGA, but I'll reserve my excitement until I see if we can play the next couple of games with the same spark as the econd half of Saturday.

The 2nd half saturday was extremely fun to watch, but we have to realize that we aren't going to get 22 points from JJ in a half every week.

I realize we're hurt at the 3/4 spot due to Parker being out for the year (presumably), Forte leaving, and DO being hurt. It is NOT preferred to have kessler or kpg playing significant minutes. KPG offers SOME sort of shooting threat, and Kessler does seem to at least have one positive in that he can rebound and hustles hard for loose balls (got a couple of em Saturday, and was our leading rebounder). But neither of those guys are going to necessarily be the difference maker in turning a loss into a win.

With DO getting his conditioning in shape and as he gets more comfortable around the rim I think we're going to see a better all around game on the floor. I realize that our competition will be much tougher when we get to SEC play, but I imagine we'll put out a better product as well.
