That’s one fewer than they recovered in 2009. We’ve lost 7 fumbles on offense and special teams.
Is there more emphasis on making secure tackles instead of ripping the ball out, or is it just bad luck?
Team is also -1 in turnover margin on the season.

Some of that is luck, and we had very little this year. Bear Alexander leaves for no real reason, and that hurt. The injury situation started out bad and progressively got worse, at the positions where we could least afford them. Every bounce that could have gone Bama's way, did. It just wasn't our year.

Hurt him, too. I hope that his story is used in the future about how transfer portal can work out. Short term vs long term.

I think we need a thread of its own for topics like these. Shortcomings this team had and how to fix them moving forward. Not blaming any one coach or player necessarily but examining team philosophies and how they can be tweaked for maximum results.

I would participate. I give it 10 posts before it devolved into a shite on Bobo thread, but I would ignore and participate.

This primarily is due to extremely bad luck. Most teams just happen to have the other team drop the ball a few times resulting in more than 1 fumble recovery.

Bear wanted assurances that he was the starter.
We don't do that.
He also wanted a bigger bag.
We don't typically do that for people with poor attitudes/complainers.

FWIW, we forced 4 fumbles all year. 3 of them were on sacks.
Like you said, teams just fumble out of nowhere all the time. That number is just shockingly low.

Bullard tried to come up with one more epic play in a huge game. He punched the ball out on the last Miroe first down run and Milroe just happened to fall on top of the ball.
If we recover that fumble and go down and win, Bullard goes straight to the Mt. Rushmore of Georgia defensive players just for his big game heroics alone.
Sad shite man!

You nailed it for the most part, but also this was the least big-hitting Georgia defense in recent memory. We may have had 2 or 3 ribrockers all season. What grade is Greg Blue Jr. in?
