Washington lost us that game

Bama has an incredible team, no doubt about. To win you can't make stupid mistakes and Washington's roughing the passer killed our much needed momentum.

Knight fell apart. He is who he is.

It probably would have been a closer game, but we wouldn't have won. But if you want to make the case of a play changing the entire outlook of the game, then it's the fumble return for TD by Alabama.

Really can't even put it on Knight, he saw pressure from whistle to whistle.

We would have lost anyways since Bad Knight showed up.
Whole tenor of the game changed on that series, though.

Lots of missed plays. Knight had some major hiccups as well.
INT after defensive INT in first half.
6 point game, we have the ball, fumble return for 6. Should not have given that ball
Fumbles next possession which killed the drive before it could even start
We had a chance to beat bama and the refs and blew it but its just one game. CANNOT IMPLODE AGAIN!

Yeah, we had to play absolutely flawless. I think we played well all things considered though. We belonged on the field with them. We can certainly win the rest.

Yeah I feel we have a solid shot of winning out

That's the key to me. No reasonable fan expected a win today. Beat Ole Miss and LSU at home. Live up to expectations against MSU, beat the pants off the two patsies, and they finish 11-1. Which would be fantastic.

Their front seven looked like 9-10 men on every snap. They neutralized Trayveon. We couldn't stop the run on half the time.
That penalty hurt. Bigly. But he didn't lose us the game.

That was a mistake and huge momentum swing at that point. Huge play no doubt. Dumb.
We seemed to finally be getting out of our own way and then.... frick me.

He was put in 3rd alone to 3rd and very long way too many times tonight. Bama feasted on 3rd and long. Had to avoid those and we had a lot of them.

Meh, we had other chances after that. Our OL finally getting exposed and Trevor Knight being Trevor Knight is what got us beat.

I hate to be a whiner, but I don't even think that Knight's sub-par performance was the biggest problem on offense. Knight is a 5th-year senior and an interim solution. He gives us a short-term respite to find a QB.
But, as a former O-Lineman, I see major problems at Center.
Yes, the kid is young, but there is absolutely no excuse for failing to put the ball squarely in your QB's two hands just above waist-level EVERY time you snap the ball. NONE. The QB should not have to even THINK about where the ball will be coming. The QB should be able to close his eyes and field the snap ... EVERY FREAKING TIME.
As a Center, you practice it 500 times per day until it is like clockwork. If the starting QB needs to go, you snap it to the next guy ... and the next guy ... and then to the trainer.
If you cannot make it clockwork, you need to be playing Guard.
There is not pressure on you until after the ball is snapped. Your FIRST job is to put the ball in the right place. THEN you worry about getting hit. If you are overly-worried about getting hit, again, you can play Guard.
ETA: I played Guard on offense, but handled the deep snaps on punts.

Jim Turner and Sumlin deserve blame here. How have you not addressed this yet? He has talent but if you don't improve his weaknesses he's not going to improve in the ways needed. It's been 7 weeks. We're lucky knight has caught so many of those snaps

Didn't have to play flawless, just had to avoid momentum changing mistakes.
The fumble for a TD and the rougher the passer were the two plays that swung the game.
