Not one who overpays for nonrevenue sports.

Not one who "manages expectations"

Whatever plans I had to accomplish anything on this Friday just went out the window. Shaggy tears and corndog tears feed my soul.

Mildly curious who Woodward hires to replace Corbelli, but that is minor compared to today.

Can't wait for you to start hundreds of threads on why Woodward was a puppet moron for hiring him to a 10 year deal when we go 8-4 next year.

8-4? Let's analyze what needs to happen to get to 8-4 in 2018:

To get 5 wins out of the non-cupcake portion of the schedule, we would have to win 5 of the other 9, including.

Clemson
at Alabama
Ole Miss
at Mississippi State
at South Carolina
Arkansas (Arlington)
at Auburn
Kentucky
LSU

We can safely assume, based off of who we return and what happened this year, a win at South Carolina, against Arkansas, and against Ole Miss. That's 6 of the 8 wins in that scenario.

I'd also say that Kentucky is a "leans win" as well. That's 7.

To get to 8 wins, Jimbo would have to either do something Sumlin couldn't do (win at Starkville without Manziel, win against Alabama without Manziel, or win against LSU) or continue the Auburn trend (home team loses every game).

Looking at the way the schedule breaks down:

September - Likely 3-2 start

October - Either 2-1 or 3-0 depending on the Mississippi State game

November - between 2-2 and 4-0 depending on the results of the Auburn and LSU games

8-4 would be GREAT depending on two things:

1. How the team finished vs. how it starts.

2. Home record (1 loss vs. 2 or 3)

Bull-fricking-shite it will be great.

We just paid out the arse for him.

He does not have a bare cupboard, he is not getting a team with a losing record, he is not at a school that has poor recruiting or poor facilities that need to be redone, and he will not be hamstrung financially when it comes to hiring assistants.

8-4 is not acceptable at all. It wasn't acceptable under Sumlin and it sure as shite can't be with a guy making even more money with an even more ridiculous contract.

If 8-4 is great for 2018 we might as well have kept Sumlin for another year.

A Sumlin-coached team in 2018 loses a minimum of 2 home games. (Clemson and LSU) Likely loses at Mississippi State and at least one of Arkansas, Auburn and Kentucky as well.

Sumlin's 8-win seasons were dependent on going unbeaten in nonconference.
