I don't think we will do the Vince thing, thanks to Ryan.
JFF is more our Colt McCoy.

True, hadn't thought of it that way. Tannehill does give us some cushion.

Don't worry, we never go full retard...

The only positive for JFF is that I don't think Coach Pettine has the same power that Jeff Fisher does over NFL G.M.'s and coaches.
I don't think that's enough to save him. The whole "90%" pretty much sums it up. We will know for sure what the Browns' intentions are come draft day.

Agreed, I didn't miss the drama last year. We took our lumps last year with the changes but still finished with a winning record and bowl win.
And are now poised for the future

I feel the same way. Glad I got to see him play and do the amazing things he did on the field, but also equally glad that we didn't have to put up with all the mess off the field anymore (well, at least in regards to JFF).
If nothing else, it reduced the number of tiresome discussions between myself and my longhorn side of the family last year!

Since when is Johnny out in Cleveland? If they don't use a first round pick on a QB then who else do they plan on trotting out the next few years? Josh McCown is bad. Outside of a half year stretch in Chicago 2 years ago, he's been bad everywhere. He's Hoyer all over again. He's a back up. He cannot hold a starting spot. If Johnny only slightly gets his shite together & slightly improves he'll be the starter. He's already in a better position without shitty arse Shanahan. Kyle misused Johnny and ran RG3 into the ground.
We are turning our backs on our guy way too soon. He's not VY, never will be.

I wondered about this myself from the OP and figured I must have missed something. So I looked at all the sports sites... Nope! Thanks, OP
McCown is obviously an emergencies-only type guy. They may have also brought him in as an older QB who can slap sense into JFF if/when he gets out of line, I dunno. If anything, getting rid of Hoyer tells me the Browns are ready for JFF to be the guy.

If JFF doesn't bring it this offseason then Connor Shaw probably jumps him on the depth chart.

I don't feel like I am turning a back on Johnny, but jez the Browns were never an optimal franchise. The made him a first round pick when others wouldn't, but I think he needed that humbling.
Maybe he gets another shot elsewhere, someone will want his publicity if just for the preseason.

Well I actually think McCown will start unless JFF is guns blazing preseason. However I don't expect McCown to keep it. I do expect him him to mentor Johnny unlike Hoyer who was the leak in the locker room every time we heard something bad about Johnny. He was doing everything he could to keep Johnny on the bench except play well.

This.
Johnny came along at the right time: he brought a ton of attention to TAMU at a time when it would have been easy for us to have been buried in the post-realignment shuffle. We benefited greatly from his swashbuckling.
At the same time, though, I don't miss the week to week circus he also brought. It was what it was, but I'm glad (as a fan) he left when he did.

Please come to Houston.
I wish, but I think Philly is the best option for Johnny. Lets hope Bradford doesn't work out and they can;t find a way to get MM. If Cleveland is actually "done" with Johnny then Philly can get him cheap. I know Chip will get the most out of him. Plus that offense runs so much and has a hurry up their are built in factors that really help any QB succeed.

Agreed. I don't follow the NFL at all, but it does seem that a guy like Chip Kelley can use Manziel to put up crazy numbers.
Besides, any move to Houston, Dallas or even New Orleans can be bad for Johnny as that would put his dumbass friends close. If he really wants to do good, he needs stay away from his bad influences.
