That's a masterpiece.

I have a Longhorn friend and former roomate who had season tickets before the current downturn and during years that were NATTY RUNS for them, he'd still leave at half and go watch the rest of the game from the student union so he could drink in the A/C. One time a neutral party was ripping UT saying that despite the success they were really lackluster fans and this guy, the UT fan, was genuinely astonished to hear that alumni of other teams DON'T leave at half or halfway through the third and consider it a duty to stay the whole game.

Oh he mad. We tailgate and still fill up our stadium well before kickoff and stay all game. Gee it must be the tailgate killing their attendance.

See, I just have never been able to understand that attitude.

Hell, I was a student during the Fran years and never once thought to leave early or at all. I'm there to support the team. Even in other sports I'm the same way, but especially for my alma damned mater.

This. Until you're a senior citizen it is your duty to stay and support the team.

See this is why their "just win and the fans will support the team" attitude is BS. All my UT friends were in school during their golden years and every last one of them did the exact same thing on game day. Show up to the game shite-faced mid first quarter or beginning of the second, high five each other for being up 20+, leave at half time and never return.

They're just shitty, entitled fans. Any "solution" that doesn't address that isn't a real solution. The funny part is they think acting more entitled is the solution i.e. "just win" or "Mack Brown isn't my standard."

I left early once, the first Utah game. As I walked away I heard the cheers of the last minute stop. That made me learn my lesson.

I left early during that one Kansas game the year KU was good. It was obvious that Kansas wasn't AS good as their ranking and our guys were beating them man-to-man but Fran's scheme and pansy playcalling were just killing it for us. He made one just atrocious call during the beginning of the third and I calmly walked out. I'd had enough of him way before that point but at that moment I felt like if I didn't walk out I might give into a strong compulsion I felt to throw myself over the west third deck ledge.

Texas Longwhorns = Dallas Cowboys

Being a cowboy fan, it's easy to spot a ruined franchise.

Both game atmospheres you could do homework in, fans and leaders are arrogant living in the past. Fans of others look and laugh. So much denial and the future is bleak from the outside looking in.

Worst of all they both whore themselves out because life is all about the Benjamin's

I've left early twice, the OU thrashing in 2008 and one of the OOC blowout wins in 2009.

I left the OU gave after picked off an option pitch and ran it back for a TD in the second half. I took it as a sign
