I just read a quote where one of the guys basically said that some of the new guys were "loose in the head" and that caused the Great Unravelling" of 2022. Is there not some modern day equivalent of dragging guys out under the west bleachers to "explain a few things in a way they can understand?" I get that you can't just beat an idiot anymore, but if fish become an ongoing problem then seniors are THE problem.

I dont think we had enough senior/upperclass leadership that would take that challenge on. And usually you expect the HC and staff to have a hand in that too, and by all we can tell they didnt handle much of the drama/issues well either (sleeve-gate anyone?).

Sleeve Gate looked like a pop Warner kid fighting with his dad the assistant coach.

The problem is NIL imo, you pay for “talent” and you get what you get. Super talented athletes but they have no true commitment to A&M. Recruit players that actually want to be Aggies and let the chips fall where they may

Chris Marshall released do to breaking team rules.
I do think losing a lot of older leadership last season was a huge hit for the team. And Ainais going down just added to that. This really is a make or break year for Jimbo, no I’m not saying if they struggle he’ll be let go but man to come out and go anything less than 9-3 (imo thats the “acceptable” floor) his seat is the hottest in the country and I bet fan interest plummets

"Chris Marshall released do to breaking team rules."

For the good of those who come after him, I hope that he ends up asking "you want the sandwich, or the meal."

At the end if the day nobody cares about talent that for whatever reason is inaccessible.

I think having kids in the locker room like Marshall and Harris and others with such little older leadership was huge.
Hopefully that’s corrected this year, all the bad eggs have moved on and guys who wanna be here are here

Does anyone?

It seems to me that (yet another) unintended consequence of unlimited transfers and early-draft declarations is a void in upperclassman leadership. The leaders have already left.
