I can confirm that #11 Josh Walker got carted off the field.

Hopefully Drew Kaser and James White can return for the home opener. I'm not sure what's the status on their injuries.

Yea he was completely fricked up. Tried to walk out of the stadium and then had to sit down again before they carted him out. I really hope he's alright.

Football's getting harder for me to watch. I love the game. It's fast and exciting and just all around awesome. But the injuries are hard to stomach.

I took a pounding in HS at a tiny arse private school and can't imagine what the dudes who play in college and the NFL go through.

This concussion issue is a real problem for the sport, but I don't know what can be done about it. I guess you could go old school and remove face masks from the helmets. Players would then definitely be more cautious.

It's not clear to me how you know a player is safe to return to action. When self-reported symptoms abate? There's a pretty obvious problem with that method, of course.
