You mean you still haven't done it?

Somebody please tell me which one of our QB's is "ready".

Allen is "ready" as far as ability and reading defenses, but that huge shot during the Miss. St. game and then a couple more in the Bama game effectively ended his season (and if those didn't, having to gut it out against Ole Miss with a bum arm through 20 straight incompletions did for sure).

I hope he can come back healthy and get over the mental trauma of the Bama and Ole Miss games. We really, really need an upperclassman QB.

Spavital is the quarterback coach.

Name one quarterback who got better under him.

Allen improved a lot from last year to this year.

Murray isn't close to college ready, but hard to blame Spav for that as almost zero true fish QBs are.

Hubenak looked bad tonight, but it's impossible to comment on his ability with the god-awful protection our OL was giving him. Auburn was getting fantastic pressure and forcing him from the pocket far too quickly despite only rushing 4. All QBs will look bad in that situation.

I think we should shitcan Spav, but I have to concede this: saddling an OC with a true fish QB, a pathetic OL, and a slow RB is not doing him any favors.

Same shite

You were right

I was wrong

Dang it

I was really hoping I was wrong. I haven't been able to watch as much football this year as I usually do so I was really hoping I wasn't seeing the whole picture. I don't know what else to do but money whipping the problem didn't work, I refuse to belive we can't take the next step but I don't know what we need to do it. If we can't win we aren't going to be able to keep pulling in top tier talent and that will kill us in this conference. As much as we love their misery tu isn't going to die and will climb out of the morass sooner or later and if we aren't established as winners by then it isn't going to be pretty.

I think he's closer to being ready, and I agree that he played hurt, but he's still really green (from what I've seen). Is it the QB, is it our philosophy, is it the OC? Is it some of all of the above? No matter what, if you want to give yourself a chance to win in this league, you've gotta take care of the ball. And Chief should be sainted with what he's been able to do in terms of point production, given our linebacker situation. Do we have the worst linebacker corps in the SEC? Is their any doubt?

I thought it was a pretty bad group before the injury bug hit us. Now I think we have one of the worst groups in the NCAA.

I honestly don't even know who's left. Who's starting now?

It's Hilliard, Washington, Fr Moore, and the Juco transfer (31). Do we have 1 backer who could start for another SEC team? Stated differently, do we have 1 backer who would see the field for another SEC team? This is a stunning weakness, and you can't hide it. Gahtdammit, there's no solution.

Spavital definitely sucks, but our defense in the first 3 quarters sucks way, way worse. I don't understand how those guys can play so well in the 4th qtr and completely stink up the place in the first 3 qtrs. I like Richard Moore. I like a couple of our injured LB's. But the rest of the LB's might as well not be on the field at all for run plays, as far as I can tell.

Yeah but considering what he has to work with Chavis has done well. I was a big proponent of the fact that we could score 40 on anyone with our offense and we can only score 3+ on anybody with a fricking pulse.

I like seeing the defense make smart adjustments. The lack of talent means they maybe put up 14 before you can adjust, but jeez if we had an OC that good..
