Bird, who do you want SAS to play in round 1, Dal, Hou, Mem, or Utah? 6-9 is going to be close as hell. I want Houston in the 6 or 9 seed.

I want Houston badly for historical purposes more than anything. Like I said a few pages back, HOU is the only Western Conference team SA hasn't faced in the Duncan era. Have beaten every other team in the West since #21 has suited up for the Spurs.

Gonna be some serious jockeying for those last 3 seeds, though, like you said.

Oh yeah, I remember you saying that now. I want to avoid GS & SAS like the plague. Probably should feel the same way about OKC, but I don't. If the Rox miss the playoffs we get our first round pick. In this case a back end lotto pick and no playoffs >>> getting swept and no 1st round pick.

That's true. I'd imagine the HOU FO wouldn't be too heartbroken about missing the postseason this year. Hard not to fight for the 6 seed while it's still in play, though.

Not at all. This team just doesn't have "it". Been out iof sync all year long and the effort isn't there enough. Plus when expectations are to compete for a title going in to the year, what is the difference between a quick 1st round exit and not even making it.

Yeah it's been weird to watch. On paper you would think they have the pieces to be much more competitive but it just never clicked for some reason.

We won 56 last year with a team that couldn't stay healthy and no legit PG. We went and got our PG and got mostly healthy (minus DMO). 56 wins should have been the minimum. Now we'll be lucky to on the right side of .500. Sports are crazy.

There's a reason "that's why they play the games" is a cliché, I guess

I expected SA to struggle a lot more than they have in integrating a major new piece. They go out instead and set a franchise record for regular season wins.

The Dirk/Duncan swan song is shaping up.

However, call me crazy because I want Golden State in round 1. This Mavs team is a team of destiny, and we can avenge our 2007 postseason where the Warriors upset as an 8 seed in Dirks MVP year.

If y'all pulled that off, I'd be so fricking happy

Warriors beating DAL in 07 basically opened the door for SA's title that year. We could handle the SSOL Suns (barely), but y'all had our number that year.

I agree there can only be one #2 player in Texas all time because we all know who #1 is.

Spurs' franchise-record home winning streak finally comes to an end.

What a run. Great season to he a season ticket holder for the first time

Yup. I watched the last 3 spurs/dubs games, and unless the Spurs play immaculate defense, I just don't see them winning a bo7 series. They would murder everybody else almost any other year. Just awful timing.

Yeah. Best team (reg season) in franchise history, and won't be favored to win it all because of the ridiculousness going on in the Bay Area

If Pop figures out a way to beat GS at full strength in the WCF, it'd be his magnum opus. Highly improbable that comes to pass.

It's amazing that a coach with 5 rings could have his defining moment be winning the WCF. 20 years from now it'll be "Remember when his team beat the all time single season win leaders"?

Speaks to the absurdity of what GS is doing.

The Dream had about an 18 month window where you could argue he played as well as any post player in basketball history. He's a textbook example, like Dirk in 2011, of a player late in his career deciding he simply won't be denied a ring.
