i was just getting back from the gym. was gonna do some work in the shop that day. the first one had already hit when i turned the tv on. i remember when the second one hit. i still don't know what to say. it was about 4pm central before i started calling people back. i sat there for about 5 or 6 hours.
i reenlisted a few months after that, had been out for over 3 years.
tbird, the friend i told you about a while back, he was still in college, set to graduate in may of the next year.
9/11 is what made his decision to go to ocs after college. we were actually at ft. benning together for a little while.
he just got out a few months ago after 13 years and 5 combat deployments between iraq and afg. i got out for the second time in jan. 04.
tricky, it certainly did feel like a need to me. good to know we have men like you in this country.

Heard it on the radio after the company I was working for called on the 2 way and told me to pull over and stop, we were working next to IAH and it was the most eerie thing I ever experienced when they told us it was ok to go to work not hearing any planes coming in to land and looking up and seeing hundreds (at least it looked liked hundreds ) of planes just circling high in the sky. Didn't get to see what happened until I watched the news that evening.
Never forget and may all the souls lost that day have a forever peaceful eternal life.
