There were 97k+ or more in the stadium for Lamar from where I was sitting in the upper west

I know the defense had a lot to do with it, but the crowd was SUFFOCATING yesterday. I haven't seen an opponent broken that early in a long time in all phases.

How would you compare the noise level to the pre-renovation version? Is it noticeably louder?

I don't think it got loud enough to make a good comparison. The loudest I remember it getting was probably on the pick 6.
We will get a better idea when we're in a close game and the defense is making a stand.

It will be once there is a big close game. Not a doubt in my mind.

I actually do think it was a bit louder compared to what it would have been in the old stadium w/the open end. Not sure what the west side sounded like to the other parts of the stadium but it seemed like more people were getting into it than normal which is likely due to so many old people being displaced. The area I was in was noticeably younger than it had been in years past.

All I know is that there was no place to sit and eat after the game last night. We were at The Kettle in Bryan and as we were leaving the place was filling up and there were more cars pulling in. I've never seen the after game crowd spill over into Bryan that far before.

Well it does help that The Kettle is one of the few places outside of NG that stays open past 11. Other than the worlds slowest Buffalo Wild Wings damn near everything near the hotel cluster on University was closed way earlier than they should have been for a game weekend. I guess it's too much of a pain to get the licensing or whatever to stay open later b/c it's insane to me that so many places shut down so early on the weekend when there are 50k students and tens of thousands of alumni in town.

Yep there are very few places in B/CS that stay open after 10 pm, being a proud member of AA I know all of them gotta have coffee after the meeting

Was louder for Nebraska 2010 (last game I attended there), but that was a defensive slugfest and every possession increased in importance.
Place got nice and loud for intros and the pick 6 and a couple other scores, but it likely won't be true bedlam until we play the bigger conference games.
Still loud as hell for a game against Ball St.
