Going to be great when we have an elite pass rush from that spot after LSUs sucking cock for the last few years and blaming him for it

I hope that happens, we need some high round defensive draft picks and DEs go early.

I '12 LSU has Sam Mont (8), Mingo (4.5), and Lavar Edwards (4.5). 17 between the 3 is fairly good. I could see 20 between Hall and Garrett.

He was a great interview from start to finish. Guy is passionate and sincere. He seemed to think Brandon Williams has a real chance to contribute at corner. He also said we'll all be surprised at how good the Justin Evans is.

Yeah that's not bad, but they rag on their DE production under Chavis constantly as if they had Clowney and the spawn of Reggie White lining up for them every year and they didn't produce nearly enough.
I am not going to look back at his Tennessee days but I would bet Garrett is more talented than any DE Chavis had at LSU.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the stand-out aspect of Chavis' DEs from his LSU era their extreme rangyness and ability to cover the space from the end of the line to the sideline against runs, scrambles, and broken bootlegs (ie the traditional rile of a DE) very very well?
I mean, what's lost in this pass rush discussion is that that's not the primary DE function and that guys with Garret or Von's extremely quick step and bendiness are very rare. Given that pass rush is the secondary role of a DE, and that pass rushing specialists are hard to come by, I think Cavis' focus at LSU on recruiting and training DEs who were super rangy, laterally quick, had good instincts and took good angles is a good sign. A smart choice. That's HOW he destroyed Johnny. Instead of taking the bait and rushing upfield at every opportunity his guys stayed home and played disciplined DE - stretching plays out laterally and allowing LBs to blow things up.

Do you really expect the bulk of TD LSU fans to know shite like that?
Its not that different than the shite show that is the zoo over at TA where people watch little more than where the ball is.

LSU involved in human cloning now? I knew it all along.

We are going to have a top 5 DE combo in the country.

but seriously garrett and mr. wrts is a good start to anchoring down that defense. expect some growing pains because chavis seems to like his players smaller and faster.

I like this moniker
I'm just interested to see how our players respond to year 1 under Chavis. No one knows what to expect, but the excitement is there

Don't let LeSU fans fool you. They know Chavis was the key to their success over us. With our baddass offense, we'll be the surprise team of the year. Things are looking very good.

I'm expecting big improvement year one for a lot of reasons. Chavis is a huge one, but we'll have more talent on the defense than has been here in a long long time.
