Have they done any improvements or reconfiguring to Blue Bell/Olsen?

Now that Baseball is about 21 days away has there been any improvements to the "yard"?

I liked Blue Bell/Olsen from what I saw on tv, haven't been since the renovation.

Not that I know of. We dropped ~28 M a few years ago then added a new video board the year after the reno.

Honestly it is already really nice.

What we need worse than anything is a Basketball makeover.

For what Reed is, it aint too bad at all. The concourse is nice with its new graphics and what not. The lighting is better. The seating is fine. The video board & ribbon is ~10 years old now. Maybe we could get something huge and awesome hanging down.

We do lack high end amenities. I wonder if these could be added. I would think the demand would be there. It is a Olsen & Kyle.

I would think Reed is next on the list. We've already redone all of our other facilities except maybe Softball and Tennis. The Rec is getting a facelift now. Just got the new indoor track complex recently. Ellis field is looking good. The golf team has their own country club (pretty much). Reed isn't in bad shape though, at least from what I've seen the last few years.

Now sure what exactly you are looking for, but here goes.

We now have 8 suites at the top and 2 field level suits next to the dugout. The first 2 rows are cushioned and have club access along with the suites and middle 3 sections of the lower level.

The club has a small concession area with better food, dessert concession, and a bar with a decent liquor selection and ~9 beers on tap.

Club

The exterior looks 100x better.

The alum bleachers in RF have been replaced with a berm and a playground.

There is also a berm in LF now too. The top of the Berm in LF is where the coaches office is now. You can walk from the RF pole to the LE bullpen now.

A few other changes...
-visitor pen is now in HR territory in RF. They lowered the wall there. Previously they warmed up in foul territory.

-The video board is huge (#3 now, was #1 when built)

-The ads have been kept under control. There are very few and done in plain white on the green outfield fence.

-Along with those ads we have 2 retired(?) #s on the OF wall for Chandler & Johnson.

The only future changes I see coming could be:
-Outfield Seating. Currently in LF they are adding onto the rec. There is talk about a balcony there.
-Covert berm(s) to seating.

I think per title 9 we have to do something to softball and I think per promises to my Henry we should be doing outdoor T&F. The plans for both look awesome. We have another thread somewhere with them.

The next projects will be track and softball. Reed is not a showpiece but it isn't bad either. It's not a priority in any way. If we are able to continue success in BB I could see suites being added to the "blank" side, but that's it. What we need badly and where we're genuinely behind is an outdoor track facility. What we have for Henry right now is a shame and we promised him better.

Going back to the BB days, I believe he said that is where all the HVAC and what not is. Plus its not meant to bear the weight for more seating.

I could see Reed being replaced in the next 10-15 years years if we can go on an extended run of being a tourney team TBH.

As the main home for athletics DeWare lasted 30 years, G. Rollie lasted 44, and Reed is now in its 18th year.

Are you talking quality or physical appearance?

Because I think we have a very good looking court.

But then again I loved out old court too. It was unique.

I guess I was just comparing it to the old one. I really liked the old one. I liked how big the Texas was. The new one is kind of small. I'm just yapping

I didn't realize how much the old Olsen Field exterior looked like Kyle Field's old exterior and their similarities in the brick renovations.

That explains how I came across this on Google.

You're right. It's HVAC. I remember now.
