He's never been able to instill toughness like this before. Maybe feeling under the axe is good for him.

Maybe so. Sumlin has had enough top 15 classes to be producing better results. I'm realistic enough about him to understand this. Perhaps he has finally learned enough on the job to figure more out.

Hoping he has finally learned that Texas A&M football is bigger than any 17 year old high school player they are trying to get and keep happy once they arrive on campus.

The disappointed from my perspective is that Texas A&M has enough of everything and we shouldn't have been paying a HC to learn these lessons on the job. Has he learned them? Maybe... or probably so. Water under the bridge I suppose. If Ags win this Saturdary (and I think we will) he is almost certainly going to remain as HC. Except for Auburn the season sets up exceptionally well for him after that.

Too little too late. He still has that dumbass Moorehead on staff and our receivers are terrible.

I wouldn’t say warmed up to him as much as just slightly cooled the fires from hell burning hot seat he was on by 10 degrees, hes still on a very hot seat.

The come from behind victories are a double edged sword. On one hand it does show resiliency, mental and physical toughness. On the other hand, we shouldn’t have been behind Nichols state, Arkansas, or South Carolina. None of those are good teams.

I will say this, for the first time since 2012 the team has improved as the season goes on. Usually it’s the other way around, or more likely the same level of play but just getting exposed by better teams in the later half of the schedule.

one of the things that bothers me about sumlin is that he hasn't had any sense of urgency until now. i could be wrong of course, but it does seem like the ucla game lit a fire under his arse.

if he wins 9 regular season games i guess he comes back next year, maybe a token extension w/o any more money attached to a buyout.

i'm just afraid he may lose his sense of urgency if he comes back. i can understand a token extension, but absolutely no more guaranteed buyout money.

ANY extension must be subject to compromise by Sumlin on the buyout issue.

If you give something, you must get something back.

If he goes 2-1 in the next 3, how are you feeling?

That means we’d be sitting at 7-3, after the gimme New Mexico win, with a real shot at beating both old piss and LSU. If sumlin did that I’d be impressed.

Look at next year - with Sumlin this team has an absolute ceiling of eight wins. Clemson, UGA, Auburn, and Alabama. He cannot beat any of the above

Screwed if he stays

He's beat Auburn every other year, so it makes sense to say he cannot beat them.

And we don't play Georgia next year.

Look man, you want to link your podcast, good for you.

Call it out and warn us. You'll get a lot more goodwill than trying to trick people or sending blind links. That's how you get the banhammer.

Auburn next year is at Jordan-Hare. The way the series has gone, that's an automatic win for A&M.

We're likely to be the first to lose that trade off.

Because we're the Aggies.
