See I am in the exact opposite position: Just drafted this team..

12 Man PPR League I had the 8th pick. Draft Order was as follows:

1. Antonio Brown
2. Gronk (wasn't really targetting him but he fell to the 17th pick so it was impossible to pass on him)
3. Alshon Jeffrey
4. Joseph Randle
5. Doug Martin (reached a bit here but he's looked good in preseason and only need him for the first 4-6 weeks)
6. Arian Foster (will be a starter for me as soon as he gets back)
7. Eric Decker
8. Phillip Rivers
9. Sam Bradford
10. Tre Mason
11. Terrance Williams
12. Jonas Gray
13. Matt Jones (kid is going to be a beast. Should target him late)
14. Cody Parkey
15. Miami Defense

I am hurting in the RB department but most everyone went RBs early so I got good value and WR and TE. I am hoping Foster can come back and stay healthy and one of Randle/Martin have a good season. Might have to package a deal to trade for a RB1.

How on earth did Gronk fall so far?

6 point passing TD league as well. So QBs came early. I couldnt believe he dropped honestly, but him dropping made me change my game plan a bit, planned on going WR at 17 then RB RB but I couldnt pass Gronk.

Someone drafted Tavon Austin in the 5th round of a draft I was in yesterday (standard scoring, 10-team league).

Qbs are Qbs. If they get 6 point or 4 point passing TDs they still have very little variance between QB3 and QB9. So drafting QBs early in a 6 point QB league doesn't make a ton of sense.

3-0 after week 1.

Now I just flipped Dez (out at least 6 weeks) and James Jones (WW pick up) for D Murray. I'm feeling pretty good about it too.

Nice I went 5-1

My loss was by 1.7 points... I had Parkey and Bradford last night. If either Parkey doesnt miss the FG or Bradford doesnt throw the pick to Matthews to end the game, i go 6-0.

Hate the damn Eagles even more now.

6 leagues? that is insane. I hate being in 3. I run one that I have for years, in a work league, and this year I joined a league with Chief's son.

I have a work league ($100) and I'm in the TD Poliboard league ($60). We should do an AggyArk league next year

I've been using the RB Zero draft strategy for the past two years and I'm a big believer in it. I top-scored this week in both leagues

In your opinion, does this strategy work better in PPR leagues versus standard formats?

I admit that I usually go RB-RB. For Week 1, I had more success this week in the leagues that I didn't use this strategy, including the highest score in a 40-team league (PPR league with 4 10-team divisions, each division has their own draft) .

Its most more effective in PPR leagues, however I am and always will be a firm believer in Best available instead of position planning.

Best is so subjective. Or you're relying on someone else's rankings.

Zero RB uses an anti fragile strategy backed up by years of data.

I agree to an extent... if I want zero RB strategy and Antonio Brown and Julio Jones are picked before my 9th pick in the draft but Eddie Lacy is still there, I am taking Lacy instead of OBJ,DT88,Dez. Like i said if you go into a draft saying im going WR/WR then RB/RB you will pass up on value and/or reach for players that could be taken later because of your "plan"

Too many dynamics to come into a draft with a position by round approach.

For example I wasnt taking a TE early this year because there was such a big drop off after Gronk, so I was planning on targeting one in the later rounds.

Gronk drops to 17th pick (round 2) of course I am not going pass him up because it didnt fit my "strategy".

Its fine to have a plan but sticking to a plan at the cost of passing up value is the difference between recreational players following a "system" and veteran players that take the value when it presents itself.

I took gronk #2 overall lol... But I had leveon bell and Jeremy hill as my keepers.

You have to look at a players value relative to an average player at his position. An elite TE is much more valuable relative to an elite WR.

Antonio brown is a beast though, I had him last year.

The fact gronk fell to #17 is crazy.

Of course. You have to be flexible. I wanted to go TE-WR-WR-WR in my drafts, but when round 4 rolled around and none of the WRs liked were still on the board so I went with a RB I did like.

That is just mean.

I went Gronk 1st in all 3 of my leagues.

Haha yeah, the best part is bell counts as s 3rd and hill counts as a 7th rounder.

Oh, and I'm in a 16 team league.

I have the best record the past two years but both times we had some shady trades for future draft picks that screwed me at the end of the season. It was super sketch, and we FINALLY changed the rule this year.

I drafted Eli Manning late as my QB1 in a 14 team standard league. Picked up Nick Foles as a Free Agent QB2 a few days later.

I didn't anticipate playing Foles much, except for a Giants bye week. But apparently Foles looked pretty good in the Rams win over the Seahawks.

I'm thinking of starting Foles against Washington. Rams have a new offensive coordinator who seems to know how to use Tavon Austin. Rams also have a good defense, I think they will shut down the Redskins. Foles could put up some good numbers in this one, too.

I wouldn't jump ship on Eli this early.
