I think Chavis is a better recruiter than everyone. So, yeah....

Most of the LSU posters on here have said he isn't that involved in the recruiting process for them

He recruited well at Tennessee and I have always been under the impression that he was available as a closer for LSU

I'm sure he's involved to some extent, I dunno how truthful what I said is, just repeating what was said by many LSU fans on here. His rep is worth more recruiting wise than whatever some up and comer is selling anyways IMO.

That's intriguing. He was the one who tore into Troy Calhoun for having his players fake injuries after a game vs. Air Force when he was the Wyoming HC.

He was also Missouri's OC and OL coach until 2008

While Mizzou was extremely prolific throwing the ball with Christensen they also ran the ball well from what I remember and utilized multiple TEs very effectively (Coffman, Rucker). I wouldn't mind seeing our offense turn more toward that at all. I think this would also put some heat on Spav since Christensen could step into the OC role easily and is more than qualified to do so

I think if they were to land Chavis (I don't think it'll happen but just say it would) his name alone would recruit some players.

Also, the ol cracking hire I really like. I think the wait for the dc search is due to Sumlin shooting for the stars. I hope he lands a solid coach. Could care less if it's a big name or not. It's been a long time since we've had a great defense and for a school that was known for its defense years ago, that's a problem. It's time to take Kyle Field back. After Mizzou players and coaches said they love playing there. That's not a good thing.

Chavis and Durkin have both faked injuries against our hurry up. Cross them both off the list.
