Got to tell you guys a story...

We went to Bama game in 2012. On the morning of the game we went to the Bryant Museum. It was great, very interesting because we do share some history through Bryant and Stallings. There were a lot of former Bama players at the museum signing fan autographs. Tide fans were super nice to us around campus and at the museum. As we walked out of the Bryant Museum there is kind of a courtyard with sidewalks from 4 directions coming to a large Alabama "A" logo. They had it roped off toward the left and the right and a few players in suits were walking through it with headphones on... just a few as most had already passed through going to/from breakfast and team meetings.

Wife and I had all our Aggie stuff on and we walked up to the rope and a few seconds later out of the building on the right comes AJ McCarron with headphones on and few other players behind him. Then Saban came out the door. Of course fans were encouraging everyone, speaking to McCarron and telling Saban to "put it on em today coach", etc..etc... Saban just walked on by said good morning to a lot of folks including us but never slowed down. Then some more of the coaches came out and walked down through the ropes. A few stopped for a second and talked as they made their way down the sidewalk toward another building.

One of the coaches, a guy about 6'2" and very tan with a voice like Stallings, was walking by and he saw us standing there with our Aggie stuff on. He stops dead in his tracks and looks at us and in a deep deep voice he said "Welcome to the SEC" with a shite eating grin on his face and short chuckle. Of course this brought a nice laughter from the Tide fans around us and on the other side of the sidewalk. Some of the comments were "They gonna find out about us today", "This ain't the B12", "We play real football in Bama", "They going to find out what the SEC is all about today coach" etc... etc... they all had a good laugh at our expense. They obviously thought it was going to be a complete rout.

Told my wife that they were the cockiest bunch I had ever seen. We watched the band march in and then went over to where the buses drop the Bama players off for the walk into the stadium. One of the Bama fans said Johnny might not survive the first quarter. A few others had similar things to say but they were polite about it.

We went on into the game and sat in section GG about 20 rows up behind the Aggie bench right in the middle of long time Bama season ticket holders. We had 2 Aggies sitting right next to us and 4 more right below us. I looked around and Aggies were spread throughout the lower sections. I had purchased seats back in July for $270 and I asked the guy sitting next to us if these were his season tickets. He said yes. When he sold them back in the summer he couldn't find anyone that wanted to go. Well a lot of Bama season ticket holders had sold their seats earlier in the year also so we were surrounded by Ags.

It was the perfect storm for us. A cocky Bama team, cocky fans, a home game, Ags were big underdogs, etc..etc...etc..etc.. Bama had just beaten LSU on the road and had a clear path to the SEC championship game. Very similar to what is going on now. Players hear this same shite from their own fans and fellow students. After Bama destroyed the Vols and knowing we barely beat them with 7 turnovers Bama players can't help but think they are going to blow Ags out. It's HUMAN NATURE. It might happen but anything can happen next week.

Knight might come out and throw 40% or he might come out and throw at 65%. Ags have a lot of weapons and Bama is susceptible to the pass. The Vols game was not close but they were decimated by injuries but more importantly mentally shot. The Vols vs Bama game doesn't mean shite for our game. Stop saying it does.

Sumlin not afraid of Bama and neither is Chavis. These guys can scheme. Ags have enough athletes to make it a game if we avoid the turnovers and Knight has his best game of the year. Neither of these is impossible.

Some of you think with 100% certainty that this is going to be a blowout. Grow a pair and have some faith. Ags have a shot. Things need to go right but we can make this a game. Make the game close and I will take Knight over Hurd as the pressure rises. We play well on offense in all 4 quarters and we are in the game.

We pulled tickets in August and ended up going to the 2012 game as well. Never really encountered any mean Alabama fans but did see a bunch of kids crying after we beat them

Bama fans said "Roll Tide" to us everywhere we went on Saturday morning and up until the game. I'm sure you guys heard it also. Restaurants, bathrooms, sidewalks, the common area... everywhere.

After the game and that night on University Blvd we didn't hear "Roll Tide" one time. Some douche bag by the Frat houses said "A&M sucks". I looked over and he had a short whorns tshirt on. We just laughed.

All night Bama fans just said good game, you guys deserved it, better team won today, etc... very gracious fans. Thankfully I was on an Elk Hunt 2 years ago and had to skip Bama.

I was at the game In 12 as well. Fans were super nice before in a you poor thing kind of way, and after they were all trying to buy us drinks at the bar etc.

The only bad apple was a hammered dude when we were sawing em off after the win said some jumbled nonsense to me and my 10 year old brother about joining the dance team lolol. I'm sure it made sense in his head.

I also saw an inter tide rumble at an outside patio, dude tackled another bammer in a patio chair, women screaming... It was nuts.

I think if we play conservative they run away with it. That plays right into their gameplan and that's what a depleted vol team did. Bama never expects to be punched in the mouth, and they almost dare you to do it. Their secondary can be had, if we get Trevor any kind of time to take shots down field.

Glad you enjoyed it. Our fans are very hospitable. And yeah sometimes in a cocky condescending kind of way. Can you blame us?

So... I'll wait for the audiobook version. But most of the Ags are pretty good people. Y'all are welcome anytime.
