Tennessee, Alabama, and Ole Miss will exploit us.

We seem to have a two part defensive strategy:

-stop the run early
-crush the QB.

Either our secondary is shite, or we play the whole game in zone because we're watching the run, or both. We've twice had backup QBs come in on us in the 4th quarter and light us up like an FCS school. Allen made us look silly if he had a second to get off a pass.

I think we lose to Bama, and maybe LSU. We can outlast anyone else.

Yeah most of our passing yards against us have come in trash time.

We have a damn good pass defense, and Chief pointed out the other day the issues with our secondary being exploited on occasion are actually on the pass rush. The secondary can usually hold its ground if our pass rush is doing its job, but when you give a decent qb 10'seconds in the pocket no pass d is going to make it.

All that being said we have an amazing red zone defense and our scoring D is top notch. We are getting better every game.

Oh, and here's the only stats that matter:

#12 scoring defense
#32 scoring offense

Probably the best combined we have had in a long time

For example, last year scoring O was 72 and scoring D was 28

In 2012' scoring O was 4 and scoring D was 26

Yeah, I've noticed it all year, when we are backed into a corner we get mean as hell on defense.

The Arky game really boosted that stat. Can't tell if that's a trend yet.

Sorting by Yards Per Play on NCAA.com, we are tied for 26th in the nation at 4.9 ypp.

Doing that from the offensive side, we're tied for 20th at 6.77 ypp.

Just be careful. It's easy as hell to get sucked into a stats wormhole and end up spending 5 hours looking up random shite on that site

Looking back, yes. Looking forward, yards per play is probably the most important stat. That or passing efficiency.
