Only an idiot or a troll would rank Lubbock over San Antonio

Unless they agreed to a 2 game series at Kyle, then I say hell no.

I think people forget because Sherman actually owned Tech, but that was some miserable times for much of the 2000s. That fanbase is really a POS and playing them does little for us.

Stick to PAC, B1G, or ACC teams for OOC matchups.

I'd rather be playing PAC and B1G teams for our P5 game.

If we push it out long enough this might be a PAC game.

I could not be more against this possibility; and I question the extent of "mutual" interest.
Putting aside my personal disdain for TTU, I see next to no benefits for us in such a game(s)--and nothing but upside for them.
Thankfully, we're still several years from 2020, and much can change in the interim.

Why wouldn't I want this match-up?  Many of us have already answered this question time-and-time again...My answer:

Because I LOVE TEXAS TECH UNIVERSITY.

I don't like doing business with people who constantly trash our school, and bring nothing to the table but a few ticket sales that, if we are good enough, we'll sell anyway.

I don't like doing business with people who accuse our school and our fans of SERIOUS CRIMES -- sending people to our games to start fights, punch each other out in the stands, cry to the media that it was Tech fans that did it, and compare their "bravery" to THE ALAMO. And then, instead of being ashamed, as anyone else would be of such acts, they go make the person front-and-center of the controversy and the crying fake charges in the media the chancellor of their school as a reward.

I don't like doing business with a school whose executive leadership publishes false statements accusing our fans of crimes like vandalism which the national press runs with, further smearing our reputation, and does nothing to correct the record after the charges are proven specious at best.

I don't like doing business with people who make derogatory comments about our fanbase unbefitting a "friendly rivalry" with a conference partner in OFFICIAL SCHOOL PUBLICATIONS, earning themselves a reprimand from the conference they used to belong to.

I don't like doing business with a school whose fan base regularly and systematically engages in caustically smearing the reputation of our academics, the city of Lubbock, and the morals of our co-eds in public forums, even when they were our "conference partners."

I don't like dealing with a school who produces politicians that think that a gain for us in the State, even in academics, is a loss for them, and have acted in a protectionist manner in the past.

I don't like doing business with a school who was ALWAYS on the leading-edge of making sure we never got a fair share of conference revenue. And yet, even under the system they set up to be so unfairly tilted in their favor and at our expense, was so jealous and greedy, they left, without giving one single s**** what happened to us in the process.

I don't like doing business with a school that has engaged in blatant cheap-shot tactics on the field of play time and time again, endangering the health of our student athletes.

I don't like doing business with a school that never admits being fairly beaten.

I don't like doing business with a school who did all these horrible things, yet couldn't deign to even admit that we were a rival, always treating us as if we were totally beneath them.

...

So yeah.  That's why.

BECAUSE I LOVE TEXAS TECH.

Now, Texas A&M can mend these wounds...but it's up to them to do it. If they want to make a complete mia culpa, GREAT.  All they need to do is hold a press conference.  Set the official record straight about all the lies, and all the trash, and all the cheating, and admit in public, to the media that we were a bitter rival of theirs and they got way too carried away as they tend to do.  All they have to do is admit they did all these thing and told all these lies because their hatred and bitterness got the best of them.  And then, they have to apologize, and promise not to do it again, and promise they will be worthy of our trust as a partner.

That's it.  They can do it.

But you know good and well it will never happen.

So f*** 'em.

We don't need 'em.  We didn't need 'em to sell out our stadium.  They never helped us get to $1 Billion.  Everything good that happens at Texas Tech happens because we Red Raiders make it happen.  On the other hand, it seems like every time we get the Aggies involved--even if we sell a few tickets and stomp their asses on the field--something BAD happens.

Next time you ask yourself this question, ask yourself whether you really love Texas Tech

The last 3x we played them we put up 142 points, over 47 points a game with 2 of those being in Lubbock.
