Chris Hummer with 247 Sports reported today that "Texas A&M is hiring Florida Director of Scouting & Recruiting Relations Joe Hamilton for a significant personnel/recruiting role." Per Hummer, Hamilton has played a significant role in Florida's recruiting efforts and especially within the state of Texas. Hamilton was a factor in the program's signing of former five-star QB DJ Lagway from the state in the Gators' 2024 recruiting class. Hamilton previously worked with new Aggies' defensive coordinator Jay Bateman when Hamilton arrived at Florida in 2022 as a personnel analyst on that side of the ball.

Prior to his time in Gainesville, Hamilton spent the 2019 to 2021 seasons with Florida head coach Billy Napier at Louisiana as a quality control coach for player personnel and recruiting. He helped Louisiana land the top ranked recruiting class in the Sun Belt during those three years while the program was was winning conference championships in 2020 and 2021.

Hamilton is a native of Lewisville, Texas and graduated from Texas Southern in 2017 with a bachelor of science in sports management.

Longstreet attended a junior day in College Station at the beginning of February and is expected to return on March 29 for a visit. He has a busy slate of trips around that date as well as he is also expected to see UCLA, Auburn, Oregon and either Louisville or Ole Miss before announcing his decision on April 14.

He generates a ton of velocity with little effort and is able to easily throw from different arm angles and is equally comfortable rolling out and throwing right or left. He has big hands and spins the football as consistently as anyone. He’s an improving athlete and uses his legs as a junior a lot more than his first two years of high school ball and looked very comfortable in zone read situations. He’s accurate to the show and intermediate levels of the field but can continue to improve his touch on the deeper throws down the field. He’s a very likable kid, a natural leader and a great teammate. He has a strong off the field work ethic and projects as a Power 5 starter with the talent to play for any school in the country.
