Wow. Just when I thought Sumlin couldn't suck any worse. What a dumbass.

I am fine with it. Sumlin's job is on the line next year. He owns every decision 100%. If his decisions don't get him back to the eight win plateau that apparently we are happy with then he fired himself.

53 rushing, 24 passing, 2 kick returns, 1 INT return. And the season isn't over yet. #UILState

So we have 6 spots left.
Who else are we going to get? Just going off CB and stuff I have seen (no subscriptions anywhere), below are my guesses.
1 RB Etienne LINK
1 CB Sheffield LINK
1 DE Jones LINK
1 or 2 DT Wilson LINK of course would be the gold medal, Bethley LINK looks more likely
1 LB Levi Jones LINK seems to be trending out way after LSU apparently backed off him.
Do we take another OL?
I have not seen much news on him since he couldn't play his senior year but I would think we would still have a chance with Zabie LINK
Going off the above list of possible recruits, and leaving out Wilson and Zabie(since it looks like we are filled for OL), it would put us at 31 commits and 259.93 points on 247
259.93 would be good for 13th in 2016 and 14th in 2015, our average class star rating should be 88.57
Throw in Wilson and we would bump to 269.65, it would make us 12th in 2016 and 12th in 2015.

I'm sorry but that sounds like a bunch of bullshite created out of half truths and confirmation bias.

With Alabama and OSU on track to sign historically great classes, is it fair to assume the next 10-12 spots will have lower totals than in previous years?

What are you basing this opinion on?

I was thinking about that also, it seems like it could. I unfortunately don't have the time or math skills to look further into it.

Based on it being completely stupid and Hamm having an obvious ax to grind. He's been Roger Klarvin-esque w/how he writes about Sumlin the last couple years.

you would think that sumlin knowing his job is on the line would sell out for next year (stidham) instead of rebuilding (mond).

Hamm also said K’Lavon Chaisson had made up his mind on going to tu and is actively recruiting for them and trying to flip aggie commits, but then later says if Sumlin can sell him on how he can be utilized and of "life after football" we have a shot.
Also said tu is trying to make a late push for Sheffield and want him to push back his decision date

I don't know that it's necessarily stupid. If you figure the OC is primarily tasked with having a good offense, there's no real reason he WOULDN'T want Stidham. Sumlin, OTOH, has to look at the big picture. Maybe Sumlin thought bringing in Stidham would piss off Mond, and threaten the entire class. Maybe he wanted to make sure to avoid the Murray/Allen kind of drama.
Plus, while Hamm may have issues with Sumlin, he never comes close to Klarvin in public opposition. And I don't see what benefit there is to lying about this. If Sumlin succeeds next year, he will be back. If he fails, he will be gone. Nothing Hamm writes will matter one way or the other. Why risk spreading false information to undermine Sumlin if there is no possibility that the information will get him fired? All it would do is further strain Hamm's relationship with the program.

It's stupid that Mazzone wanted Stidham?
Or that someone above him overruled him?

Sumlin has been softening up to 247 and giving them more access. I've thought hamm has been more protective of sumlin lately, and tarp doesn't like him just because he's frustrated with bad football.

its not just Mond we would lose.
We'd for sure lose Aubson as well im guessing, and probably the LB as well. That would look incredibly bad this late in the game.

Maybe...Mond could have been bluffing. Ausbon also said he would like to play with Stidham. Marchiol committed before Mond. Only a week before, and I think you're probably right, if one left there is a good chance we lose at least one other.
Christian Kirk came for Kyler and Kyle though and he is as happy as a clam. Granted he was already enrolled and playing, but still.
To me, everyone is talking about the drama of bringing stidham on campus and what could have happened, but if mond is calling the shots without even being here yet, isn't that the same deal?

This is a logical conclusion. People have already forgotten that we narrowly beat out Auburn for Mond. Auburn had also offered Hez Jones and Ausbon. Things could have gone bad.
Mond's old HS school coach has also joined BU. It's not likely, but a angry Mond could have swung the old BU commits back to Waco (Peevy, Mond, Ausbon, and Jones).

I'm sure we'll never know the truth, but what is the everyone's opinion on what happened with 2017 QB recruiting? Here's a few explanations I could see:
a) Sumlin and Mazzone didn't want Stidham
b) Mazzone wanted Stidham but was overruled by Sumlin
c) Sumlin and Mazzone wanted Stidham but he just preferred to play for Auburn or we got out-"recruited"
d) other
