What happened with Riley Ferguson?

Wasn't he the kid who never lost a high school game? I see he's committed to Memphis after going the juco route. Why didn't he work out at UT?

Because of Josh Dobbs, probably. I don't think Ferguson liked being redshirted.

He got too impatient and didn't want to pay his dues. I think he wouldve been a good QB here.

Honestly, I think it was because he was absolutely embarrassed in the Spring game. His performance was awful while Dobbs showed he was a gamer. Even Peterman looked miles better than Ferguson. Riley quit not long after and for no real reason so there's the timing of it all too.
I read an article not long ago and Riley said he felt like he made a huge mistake by leaving. He also said he'd come back to UT if he was offered. TBH, I think he just needed to grow up a little. He has the arm but he didn't really study the game and it was too fast for him even in the Spring. I've heard rumors he was homesick and kinda isolated from the team -- the crowd he ran with wasn't necessarily a good one (those are rumors tho).
He has talent and I do hope he puts it all together.

Holy shite that wasn't that long ago and I've already almost completely forgotten about him, no hard feelings for him. Wish he would've stayed then, wish he could've came back. Young folks sometimes don't make the best decisions for their futures, me included
