The melt on the LSU board from announcing that we are interviewing him and Yurich has been great. It'll be even better if we can hire one of them.

Briles is picking up steam per Chris Low and Bruce Feldman

What did Freeze do that Briles didn't, I am so confused by the BoT than ever, as I said I gave up on UT not stepping on their own toes.96

You're thinking of the wrong Briles. Kendall has been cleared of any wrong doing in that whole Baylor situation. His dad though...
You might say, "there's no way Kendall didn't know what was going on" and you might be right, but he was cleared of it; and has been successful at 2 schools since Baylor.

Some are saying Yurcich tomorrow. It would be a great hire, IMO.

He's a good hire. Briles would have been much better imo. We certainly could do worse

Yurcich is Briles without the baggage. They run similar systems but Briles does run the ball more. If we hire Yurcich I expect that he will adapt to that (can't see Pruitt hiring him otherwise).

I don't know much about Yurcich so I jumped on the OSU boards to see what they felt about potentially losing their OC. They are praying he GTFO of Stillwater. Some are saying he can't recruit, and is too predictable.
I always thought of OSU being a high powered offense.

It's hard to tell how much is their offense being good vs. the Big XII being bad at defense. I definitely don't think it would be a terrible hire. I do think I'd prefer Briles but maybe it's worth it not to have the potential baggage that would come with him. (I think as it stands Briles is fine but there is the potential for something new to come to light).

Lol, they only averaged 38 ppg, 493 ypg. But again, Big 12 defenses.

It's bizarre but I think it's because most fans focus on offense over defense and that's exaggerated in the B12 which is even more offense focused. Yurcich's offenses have put up great numbers and if anything it's their defense that's been costing them games. What I don't understand is why Gundy hasn't taken any flak while Yurcih has. But hell I won't pretend to understand the politics or fan mindset of the B12.
If we were to hire Yurcich, I think he'd be aight. That said, the fact that we've seen a lot of OC's from explosive offenses mentions has given me a bit more faith in Pruitt. He's not tied to traditional BAMA/UT run it up the middle football, imo, but rather understands that the game has changed. That's a good thing, imo. Bama isn't tied to it anymore and neither should we be.
ETA: Hell what makes Briles in particular and other spread guys in general attractive in the first place is the way their schemes align. Our weak arse OL could be instantly fixed because the scheme spreads things out so much that defenses can't key in on them as much. It's finesse but finesse is what we're stuck with until the roster turns over.

Anybody got one of them offensive coordinators?

That sinking feeling is coming on. Enos promoted, Briles to FSU. Is another OSU coach going to use us for a raise? Their AD/T Boone has to hate seeing football openings come up on our staff. 9 times out of 10 it means he’s hitting the hip again.

We should call Matt Canada, with a new coach coming in at Maryland he can’t feel great about his job security. When he was actually calling the plays at LSU his offense looked good. Unfortunately his system is very complex and would take a while for the players to learn
