Hogville is a black hole that should be completely avoided. Once you've been there you are forever unclean

That is some hilarious shite.

The ignorance about the Title IX lawsuit is about what I'd expect. People really don't know what it's about and the media isn't doing their job informing them. The one thing CBJ has done right ever since he arrived is to suspend and/or dismiss players who get in trouble and he's done it at the speed of light.

That said, I don't think the Hogs here hate us. Hogville is Hogville.

I am pretty sure that's the bunch that created grudenville.net because they were so sure Gruden was going to be their coach.

I find it crazy that some think Jones should be fired just over accusations. Do we really live in a time now when it is not okay to stand up for yourself?

Well when you add in blind hate for a program it becomes easy to misinterpret the facts and believe what you want to believe. I think that's what is really the issue in that thread. I'm sure there are some who honestly believe there's something bad that's gone down either because they're cynical bastards who've seen it happen in other programs or simply because they want to be sympathetic to those who might've been harmed/victimized by others but they haven't really followed things closely and so their opinions are misinformed. But in fairness to them, the media has done a really shitty job with this case -- most are as ignorant as the random guy on the street. The fact that a few even attempted Baylor comparisons before getting smacked down by their peers in the media who knew better speaks to that.

But yeah we do live in a kneejerk world these days where few bother investigating before rushing for their bag of stones to start tossing.

Obviously we have to wait until facts come out for this case (which I think will drag on), but it does seem apparent that there were missteps, albeit nothing major so far. I really hope that none of the staff or officers were complicit in any cover up. To me, the fact that Butch called players means very little. Coaches wear many hats, but one of those is to back your players and be there for them no matter what.

The media has been awful. I get that they aren't bound to be objective in their journalism, but come the frick on. Their "the evidence is damning" line is crazy. From what I have seen, many people are referencing the document put out by the accusers attorney which is obviously meant to make it look as bad as possible with Lil John, Peyton Manning, and whoever else could be squeezed into it.

I do think some stuff will come out that will be bad, I guess we will see how bad. I definitely do not think that we are somehow above being crooked because we are The University of Tennessee.
