We are continuing to work what's going on with Alvin Kamara. Kamara limped to the sidelines on Saturday after a late hit out of bounds on a punt return in the first quarter

Kamara returned to the game and had 4 more carries and a catch. He also played with a brace on his left knee. He has remained in a brace since the game.

As all players do, Kamara followed up the injury in the training room on Sunday where he has been further evaluated the last couple of days. In talking to multiple people, there hasn't been concern with an ACL but there has been some worry about an outside knee ligament or the LCL. If you watch the replay, his left leg is planted and the knee kind of bows out when Kamara is hit.

At this point, from what we are found, Kamara is still being evaluated to determine if anything other than rest and rehab needs to be done.

Everyone remain calm. REMAIN CALM GODDAMMIT.

It could honestly be a strain or a bruise. He stayed in the game, which tells me it's not an ACL. LCL is worst case scenario.

Confirmed- out 2-4 weeks

quote:

A fourth-year junior whose NFL stock overall continues to rise, particularly on the heels of his 312-all-purpose yards effort Oct. 8 at Texas A&M, Kamara is dealing with less significant but nonetheless troublesome injuries in the form of setbacks to both a lateral collateral ligament and meniscus. The LCL injury is considered a sprain; the meniscus injury likely requires arthroscopic surgery --- though the timetable for any procedure generally is flexible depending upon rehab and individual discomfort/pain tolerance. Three medical experts with experience in college athletics tell 247Sports that Kamara’s injury typically requires a minimum two- to four-week rehabilitation process but also could be longer depending on the longview.

We've beaten worse teams without using Kamara.

I mean, Debord wasn't going to give him the ball anyway.

Exactly. But there's another issue. We have no PR (if we even force punts anymore). If Berry is out, we have Abernathy returning kicks with a pulled hammy (or hairline fracture in his foot). We got no food, we got no jobs, OUR PET'S HEADS ARE FALLING OFF

2-4 weeks minimum. With our luck he's done for the year.

I'm melting so hard internally. I'm pretty sure what little sanity I have left just also suffered a season ending injury.

To be fair Kamara had more touches/attempt at touches than Hurd until that hit out of bounds. Hopefully he gets the most we he returns.

Per Brice, Kamara has a sprained LCL and a meniscus injury that likely requires surgery. Per Brice, the injuries could take 2-to-4 weeks to heal but could be longer.
So he's done for the year.

No fricking way we make it to Atlanta.

And now we get to watch Hurd get 4 YPC on 25 carries every game the rest of the season

per butch today

He said Alvin called him and he had questions about where the report came from because Alvin hadn't heard it or been told it yet......
so seems like alot of gun jumping to break the story. That most of this news is new to Kamara himself.

If we win out then the rest of the east should just quit football.

While I want to believe it, I will never take anything Butch says about injuries seriously.

I'm no fan of Hurd but we've made it through the meat of the schedule. Kamara could sit until Kentucky and I don't think the team would miss a beat.

This is of course assuming it's a deep bruise of some kind and not a legit tear of a ligament. If it is... then frick.

I'm sorry guys but this team is about to struggle through this relatively easy stretch much more than anyone around here is expecting
