We could be 4-0 right now. We have 2 tough losses we should have won. Between the refs and a few questionable play calld, we could be undefeated. Could butch have done some things differently and we won? Yep!! but what's done is done. The simple fact remains that we have alot of games left, and that will tell us if butch is going to be the future or not. We improved last year to 6 wins (7 with bowl) if butch wins 7 games this yr (8 with bowl) its an improvement.... and 8 wins (9with bowl) is still very much in play and a HUGE improvement. It takes time, and if we manage to keep improving thats all we can ask. it all depends how the players respond, it was about this point in the season when the players gave up on dooley. So lets let it play out and see wat happens. Will the players respond and get us those 7,8,9 wins... or will they quit and we see 6 wins or less. I will wait and hold judgement until december!

Tennessee is better than you're giving them credit for. Remember, Butch is rebuilding.

If UT wins 7 games this year, it is a better record. A win over a 1-3 Arkansas team (compared to a loss to 9-4 Ole Miss last year), doesn't show improvement...it shows that our rotation with the SEC West got easier. A win over a (however many losses they get) Missouri team this year, compared to a loss to an 11-3 Missouri team last year...again, shows that this part of the schedule is easier.

Improving is all I am asking for...I've seen improvement in the players abilities and effort, I haven't necessarily seen any improvement in coaching.

Nope...we beat Akron the following week and barely lost a shootout with Georgia in Athens after that. We even lost a close game to South Carolina (in Columbia) the last week in October. It was the 4 OT loss to Missouri...when Dooley chose to run out the clock, rather than go for the win in regulation, that lost the team in 2012. That was a stupid coaching call, that showed Dooley didn't have confidence in his players, (which is what we are calling Jones out for, as well).

I'm still baffled by Dooley's decision to run out the clock there, especially considering his seat was on fire at the time combined with too many other reasons to list all of them here
Truly one of the most confusing coaching decisions I've ever seen........with that offense.........I swear I think by that point the guy wanted to get fired

Both teams were pretty much scoring at will. He had a free shot, and blew it.

Two timeouts and 45 seconds and we were already just a few yards from field goal range.
I have said that when he saw that call, Vince turned to Barbara and said, "our son just cost himself his job."
