Get a good defensive coordinator to pair with this guy and I would take him in a heartbeat.

I think he might object to that

His teams are great at scoring 40-50 points a game...and winning by a touchdown.

I'll repeat. With a good DC he might just work.

See comment above.

Defensive guy or not. His teams score a ton of points, but they give up a ton of points.

He wins...that's what I care about.

Patterson would've taken it back in the day. Don't know about now.

We had our chance to get Patterson in 2008 after Fulmer. That ship has sailed unfortunately.

He went back after the interview thinking he had the job.

Hamilton hires Lane fricking Kiffin.

It does suck, but I actually don't fault Hamilton for going with Kiffin at the time, especially since he was bringing Monte/Ed O to handle the defense. At least he took a shot with the hire.

It is how he reacted to the unforeseen departure of Kiffin by bringing us a head coach from Louisiana Tech with a losing record that I will never forgive for. The fact he didn't just give Kippy an interim tag for one year and then make a move the following year with a clean slate of coaches is a big reason we are still in the hole today.

Would love Patterson, but I don't think it is realistic.
