This one is current as of 10/14 but feel free to add more as it pertains to our more current situation but even as time passes (just include the date if you don't mind.
Per Hubbs (changes, injuries, and more):
--- Derrell Scott is now the #2 RB behind Hurd and will see an increased workload. Lane is now #3 due to nagging injuries. (Sad but Lane has always had durability issues and this line isn't helping him. That said, I think Scott may well have beaten him out anyway. Kid has talent and while I like Marlin Lane he's always been up and down).
--- Young will be out at least 3 weeks
--- Josh Smith is out this week and may get a medical redshirt for the rest of the season (SAD as we really needed him this year with the way he was playing but hopefully he'll get a medical).
--- Hendrix, Moseley, Jakob Johnson, McDowell and Lewis will get more PT than they've been getting. (Should be interesting - been looking forward to Hendrix, Moseley and Jakob in particular).
--- Von is 100% healthy
--- Evan Berry will be the kick returner from now on. He will also be getting snaps on offense and defense. (I think he def. won the KO return job even before it was known Devrin got injured but it should def. be interesting to see how they use iron man Evan).

Anyone else get a nostalgia boner on his kick return?

How would Josh Smith qualify for a medical RS but Gilliam didn't when he tore his ACL first game?
Legitimately wondering. I have no clue how medical redshirts work.

I was wondering the same thing.

Gilliam is already on his 5th year. It is very rare for the NCAA to grant a 6th year.

Ah, good point. I didn't think about that.

I'm pumped to see that Scott has passed up Lane on the depth chart.

Isn't Lane still limited because of the ankle?

It's total bullshite if they wouldn't give one to a guy who's technically a fifth year, but has only been on scholarship for one and played 3/4 of a game.

As we all know, when dealing with the ncaa total bullshite is to be expected

Tennessee was not going to apply for a 6th year for Gilliam. Wanted that scholarship.

I agree. I'm wondering if that is another reason why we aren't seeing Blair. If they are planning on redshirting him this season so he will have 2 to play (along with getting him to a point where he can play in the SEC). If Blair could actually improve enough to be productive next season, and Mosley can heal and get into the rotation, then the priority may be having the additional scholarship slot to give, rather than Gilliam returning.

This makes sense.

It's going to be really interesting to see how they use Evan Berry. Offense AND Defense + special teams? Gonna utilize that speed, imo!

You're certainly welcome.

FYI: Safety and RB are the two positions Coaches and Berry are experimenting with. Well, those and KO returns.
If they use him at RB it wouldn't surprise me at all to see them use him as they did Pig last year in the h-back role OR use him in the passing game as he's just that fast.

I'd love to see what Berry could do in some kind out wildcat package.

Could be interesting but if I had to use him anywhere I'd use him to gain the edges via either a designed run or a pass play (like UGA used Marshall and now uses Michael). We haven't really had anyone who could do that and Berry has the speed to run the edges and make defenders pay. He turns a corner and 'he gone.'
But who knows? And I gotta admit there's something very appealing about being able to call it the Wildberry.
