Knoxville's Cumberland Avenue is finally finished. Here are some before and after pictures ????

Meh.

No OCI

I just noticed it is one lane wide both ways?

Yeah, 1 lane but they built in turn lanes. I think it helps the flow of traffic, the last couple times I've driven through I haven't been bogged down by traffic.

Looks 10x better. This has already brought in 190 million in private investment and it just finished yesterday. Give it a few more years and I imagine that number sky rockets and we will all see a vastly different Cumberland Ave in terms of housing/bars/restaurants/entertainment than what we have become used to.

The Strip/Market Square/Gay St/The Old City have came a long way the last few years. Exciting times

4th and Gill/Historic N Knox is next on the docket. Central Ave is about to be redone and there are a ton of empty storefronts ready to be utilized.

Agreed. I live in North Knox and it's been great to see everything slowly expanding to the fringe areas of downtown north.

Same here; I'm across the street from 3 Rivers and being walking distance to there, Flats and Taps, Hops, Schultz Brau, and Crafty Bastard and soon to be like 3 more breweries/restaurants is amazing.

I'm about 5-10 minutes farther down Broadway at the beginning of Fountain City. I'm a fairly frequent visitor of Crafty Bastard and Schulz Brau. Have you seen the progress being made on the new brewery opening up on Broadway close to K Brew? I'm digging the outside design a lot.

Yeahhhh, I'm not sure when it opens but I'm pumped for The Elkmont Exchange. The guy who's behind it just got back from opening a fairly successful brewery in I want to say Thailand (maybe Vietnam) and they'll specialize in Sours.

There's also another brewery opening up a block or two away from Crafty in the under-portion of that specialty car dealer on 5th. Some pretty cool stuff going on.

That whole area around The Broadway and Central intersection is going to look completely different in 5-10 years. We are loving it
