Thought I'd just pass it along. Morrison is pretty solid, though sometimes he gets overboard with stats. Loves your DLine, but who doesn't?

Solid analysis, imo.

Yeah, he's generally pretty fair. He gets carried away with minute stats at times where he loses his audience, but I thought his take was pretty fair, especially considering it was coming out of COMO.

Just can't wait for the games to get here.

I'll be honest, I had no idea Maggitt had 11 sacks last year. Solid, and fair article though.

Pretty decent write up.

Reedus, in your possibly biased opinion, would a road trip to CoMo be worth it? Pluses/minuses?

Not that you asked me but at this point I'm beginning to worry Mizzou has some kind of spell on us, I think they are gonna be mysteriously tough for us to beat for awhile. Even if we are good

You haven't been around much man, been busy? Yeah, I agree, they are a solid program no doubt and it seems like they have UT's number. Perhaps they're our new Florida goddamn now that I say that it makes me want to puke. Mizzou isn't going anywhere, they will be in the mix for the foreseeable future. Not a slight, but I don't think they'll ever really compete for playoffs NC if they maintain status quo regarding recruiting.

I was looking at the schedule for an away game to try and make. I've been to Tuscaloosa before and have no desire to head to Florida. I've driven through CoMo a couple times and it seemed like a decent place. Plus, my lady friend's family love not too far away.

Naw I've been here, been posting on the MSB a lot though. Not a lot going on on this board to post about and yea I have no idea why you had to drop the F-bomb, ruined my previously wonderful Saturday morning

And I'm not trying to hate (sorry Reedus) but I've been to CoMo when there wasn't a game going on and it was alright but nothing special

Had a group of friends go up there for a game (I think it was against Ole Miss?) and they were thoroughly unimpressed so idk if I'd pick That game for your away game. Away games are kinda meh this year, you could do Lexington and do the Bourbon trail or some shite or just return to TTown, if you can bear it

tRant seems to be our board to post on.

I've heard kinda the same stuff about Columbia, decent but not great. I've heard the fans are accommodating though. Not a chance I go to Tuscaloosa. Whenever I post how much I think the state of Alabama sucks, I am completely sincere. I think it is terrible with few, if any redeeming qualities.

The away schedule does suck, but that just means there will be a lot of good home games which is good for me.

It's so bad in the offseason it's totally dead to me

Tuscaloosa is a great place to booze on a gameday especially if you are a college student, other than that the rest of the state is swine.

Tbh, last time I was there, I was still underage and the stadium was under construction. From all accounts the place has gotten much better. I hope so because it was unremarkable then. Plus, it was MTSU vs. Bama so of course the atmosphere wasn't electric. That said, we still got dog cussed just being from Tennessee. I was impressed that they cussed fans of a Sun Belt team.

The state does suck, if I never go back it'll be too soon.

Sorry for the delayed response. Ya know, I've been there so much that I take a lot of the things there for granted. I will say that it seems a vast majority of people who have made the trip have been pleasantly surprised. I'm not saying it's the all time best but generally people walk away more impressed than they thought they would be.

The only down side I can think of is weather. Late in the year it can get pretty nasty. Book hotels relatively early because that was one thing the city wasn't prepared for with the move to the SEC, though more are being built and there are more within a 30 minute drive.

If you think you'll make the trip some day, let me know and I'll get you access to the Mizzou board and you can ask for suggestions on places to go/stay/eat/drink/etc. On the plus side, as long as a person isn't a douche at the game, you'll find most Mizzou fans are rather welcoming. Sometimes, I almost think too much so.

The campus is actually beautiful. The best parts of actual Columbia butt right up to the campus. Plenty of good eats and drinks. Again, without saying it's the next coming of The Grove, I think you'd be pretty surprised and enjoy it.

Meh, we will be competitive (not necessarily win a ton of games) more years than not, but the W's and L's will all work themselves out in the long run. Just a small sample size still at this point.

My biggest concern is when Pinkle retires. We don't have the history and tradition to fall back on like UT or some others. Our next hire will have to be just as much of a quality hire as GP was.

I don't take it as a slight at all. I've been saying it for a while now. I think when GP does his thing and it clicks, it's fun to watch and we can beat most teams on any given weekend but we just don't have the talent/depth to carry that over the course of an entire season. I keep saying, imagine what GP could do if he was developing a majority of 4* kids instead of 2 and 3*'s. That is what it will take to go from division titles to conference championships and beyond.

I'd definitely do it then. You're familiar with the drive and a bit with the town. I think if you actually get to spend some time in COMO and walk it and see it, you'd enjoy it.

In the bigger picture, this is probably fair. COMO isn't Oxford. It's not Athens. It's not Knoxville. But it is better than many think going in.

Should have added to the earlier post. Columbia has an open container law but it isn't enforced on game days, unless you're being a dick to the cop. Also of note for some. Smoking weed in Columbia is tantamount to a parking ticket. Cannot be arrested for it. Just don't get caught by a State Trooper because it is still against the law in the state.

Having attended Mizzou for a year and a half and being from MO I will say this. Like any town it's fun if you find a good group of rival fans to tailgate with or hang out with. It's a college town (I think there are 6 or 7) and there isn't much else close, Jeff City is the worst city I have ever lived in. With the smaller capacity right now it doesn't have the "huge" game day feel yet, but as rivalries develop and they expand the seating it will get better. Personally I feel every college stadium deserves a trip at least once.
