Lmao, Butch is the biggest tool of this century.
For those who don't like clicking links, here is the TL;DR:
Butch says they have always lined up this way. but that's BS so the article shows a picture from the Florida game last year where the DL was lined up normally.
My favorite part of the article is Albert Haynesworth. That man takes no shite.

He is smarter than the fanbase.

And then he tells the QB Club something completely different.
"We wanted them to line up a little closer".
I'm so sick of Lyle treating the fans like we're fricking idiots who know nothing about the fricking game whatsoever.

frickin Jones is turning smashmouth into a slap session.

I expect Jones to say something like that tbh. He'll defend his team and staff to outside criticism even when he looks dumb doing it. It's why they love him but also why he drives us crazy when he says shite like this. Sexton needs to tell him there's a fricking middle ground on how to answer these questions.
Still the bigger question isn't whether CBJ will say something dumb (he will), it's if the MLB or Shoop see that (and how can they not) then why the hell aren't they telling the DL to scoot fricking closer between snaps or even on the sideline?

I mean my god
Does he think the people who will hear this answer are 3 years old?
I understood the possible reasoning for doing it against GT but come on, this is a REALLY easy thing to fix
Maybe they just wanted to keep doing it one more game we would win easily to try to help keep ppl healthy.........idk I'm just trying to come up with any ridiculous excuse I can thing of, what a ridiculous thing to have to discuss

He told the QB Club that it was a habit hangover from the GT game. He wanted them to line up like normal, but short week blah blah blah.
What pisses me off is that he knows what the problem is, but then acts like we're stupid for mentioning it. I expect it to be fixed by this weekend.
Now the Jumper problem, that's not fixable until he graduates or gets injured.

Albert is a dickhead, I know him personally, but he's not stupid whatsoever. Maybe he should coach.

I've met Albert a couple times and he was plenty nice and came across as much more intelligent than I expected Tbh

If that's something he couldn't fix in FIVE MINUTES of practice then he should just resign as he isn't capable of being a head coach even in high school
I, I'm sure as well as others, played oline and dline in high school and this is as simple as adjusting splits on the oline or alignment on the dline
It isn't a difficult change at all and there's no amount of "habit" that would make it difficult to change
Unbelievable

Agree. He's a cool dude IRL. I don't think he ever gave a shite about the NFL as a player but he loved and still loves UT. Two different worlds though. In college, you've got the all your peers - players, athletes from other sports, regular students, grad students, even professors who for the most part want to see you reach your goals and understand the college environment and so on that form an entire community around you and that are ultimately going through similar things with you.
In the NFL you're nothing more than a worker expected to perform. There's fandom but not really a community the way college campuses are their own communities. When you're done with a NFL team, it's not home anymore but where you go to college is always home.
