Jones said last night that the fans liked the format of the Orange and White Game watching the one on one drills and so forth.

Do ya'll think that is true? I wish they would play an actual game and I think that would be better for team development also.

That experience is going to be somewhat lame regardless.

I don't. Do you see any title contenders doing this shite in their spring games? I didn't think so.

Pow. He said "The fans enjoy seeing the one on one drills..."

When they don't. What a dick that guy is.

We all know that Butch is clueless when it comes to interacting with fans/media. They really need to get a solid PR person to coach him up. I mean, what are we doing with all that SEC Network money?

To me, his saying "The fans love watching the one on one drills" is just like saying "They won the game of Life."

He knows it is bullshite but he blurts it out any way. That is WHY he blurts it out.

So you are saying his is blurting it out because it is bullshite? Do you think he is a troll?

I've always figured he was just uncomfortable in the spotlight and just reverted to the BS because of it.

How funny. Yes, maybe he trolls but doesn't know what he is saying.

That one comment stuck out to me. It was just an odd thing to say.

Agreed. I just tend to think it isn't intentional. The guy is charismatic, but needs a filter. He seems over his head with the media most times and just reverts to the only pseudo-experience he has speaking in front of groups, IE his coach speak.

I genuinely believe that if he could consider the audience and tailor his message appropriately, it would go a long way towards his credibility as a coach.

True. But running up some consecutive SEC titles would do a lot more.

Dude craves the spotlight, but he's too insecure to handle it when it's negative.

Wants all the accolades but none of the criticisms. It's why he directed the band when we beat Florida, but sent out Dobbs to deal with the media when we lost to Vandy. He's a pussy.

Weeds calls that out in this article in the Chattanooga Times Free Press.

Put another way, just how badly must Volunteers football coach Butch Jones want to avoid any questions from a frustrated fan base for the school apparently to end 26 years worth of meet-and-greets with its most loyal supporters?

Now they've changed their story and are saying that they're just pushing it back. Likely due to the backlash from the fanbase.
