I like it's heavy on incentives and the fact that he accepted that tells me that he thinks he will win at UT. Any coach that can recruit like him will always be a hot commodity.

If the rumors were right, which they rarely are, he tip-toed into Strong while Gundy was using him for a raise. I'm not sure Strong is better than Butch. But Hart sure seemed incompetent then. I also think he looks like a doofus. Maybe not full level Sunseri doofus looking.

Just announced that Butch has agreed to extension through 2020. Bumped up to $3.6 million...

I'm fine with it. Needed to be done and helps with recruiting that he's locked in

i disagree that it needed to be done but that's ok. What's done is done, hopefully it pays off.

It's fine as long as he isn't fired. If he is, Hart goes with him.

I think Hart believes in Butch and where he's taking the program and I think that we as a fan base need to let it play out. He's recruiting extremely well and has us in a January bowl game again in his second year. Unless he just shits himself next year then we need to be fully supportive regardless. Continuity is needed much more than we fans think, and turnover in coaching will wreck us. If Kiffin and Dooley haven't drilled that into our heads yet then idk what will

I think what a lot of ppl don't realize is it takes time for a coach to get to know a program and to learn how it is best run, most of the time we talk about the players getting to know the coach but the coach has also got to get to know the players, the AD staff, and the University. That doesn't just happen over night

I don't think I have to remind anyone here about Saban's first season @ Bama and how their situation wasn't even comparable to how bad ours was

Eventually a coach has to coach. No matter what other bullcrap they have to deal with. And I'm 50/50 on whether Butch Jones and his staff are on par with what the SEC requires.

Instability sucks, but sometimes coaches need to go so you can find that right guy. But when you extend mediocre coaches and then fire them, and then pay them several million dollars not to coach, it gets into a repetitive cycle of screwing yourself. I hope it doesn't happen to Butch. But he really hasn't shown much.

I get what you're saying but I just don't think many of our fans realize how frickED our roster was. Last year, most ppl projected us to win 4 games and he won 5 and nearly a 6th

This year most ppl projected us to win 5 yet some still predicted 4 and he won 6, that's good enough for me to be happy. Remember how brutal our schedule has been those 2 years as well.

Next year will certainly be telling I think

Looks like his buyout went up and is now more than Fulmers. It's not likely, but there's still a reasonable chance we burn hard next year and miss a bowl.

Just curious, what makes you think that?

Dobbs is still iffy. The line has another year, but what if a turd is always a turd? Jancek's defense regresses to a Jancek defense, and USCe doesn't suck.
