Slam dunk at this point. I will be in Knoxville to witness the carnage next Saturday.

I am ok with it. That was my predicted record before the season, but I will say that it's obvious that our record should be better. UGA, Arky, Mizzou, all weren't as good as expected (Arky when we played them). That and the way we lost certain games was pretty bad.

I am still not on board with Butch and co., but no doubt he has done a decent job improving UT's stock back to a respectable level. Need to make a couple coaching changes in the offseason.

I think the only weak link is Azzani but at the same time: no North, no Croom, no Pig, not even Johnathan Johnson and Von missed much of spring/fall practice. That said, I don't think it's a testament to Azzani that moment Jones started working with WRs they got better. Also, Peyton could seriously be our QB coach soon as crazy-awesome as that seems.

Even so every measurable aspect of the offense is better than last year.

The secondary started out as a dissappointment but now that Martin is healthy and Foreman has learned his position at nickel things are good there.

--At LB we had JRM doing the work until we found the other LB well Kirkland has definitely figured out his position and is playing the best ball I think I've ever seen out of true freshman at that position (high learning curve there).

--DL is good and has been playing their best ball after a slow but solid start to the season. Seems like Owen Williams found another gear (really gonna miss him) when we lost Shy and KMAC got his first sack is really starting to shine! And we've got guys who've finally started to fill Curt Maggitt's shoes.

--RB is better than ever. We two feature backs and a third who has shown he's no slouch.

--OL should improve incrementally. I still don't expect them to be world beaters BUT they'll be more talented than this year. There will probably be a learning curve at LT but given how well Chance Hall has done at RT and how well Jack Jones and Jashon have done at guard I'm starting to think Mahoney actually can coach as those three are his guys and the others are ones he's inherited. Even Kerby has been a pretty good LT for us this year considering he's a natural guard and his struggles last year.

--WR should be better next year barring the injury bug BUT this is where I'm the most nervous. I think Azzani may overcomplicate things because this unit has struggled to be consistent with every QB we've played.

--QB we are stacked with talent for the first time in a long time. While folks have focused on QD since he's the backup Sheriron Jones is gonna be a bigger threat than they realize. And Gaurantano is like a young Dobbs on steroids.

I'm not sure how well Peyton would fit as QB coach in this offense but I'd be cool with giving it a shot

Having Peyton being part of the staff in ANY capacity would be a recruiting home run. Who wouldn't want to play for the greatest ever? Regardless of position.

Nah, we can't have an 8 loss season at Tennessee. We have standards.
