Making the trek from Alberta with my dad to see Bama vs. UGA. Looking for 2 tickets, preferably not in the end zone. Since this is my first trip to Athens I would love to know how difficult is it to show up on game day and find tickets walking around. Many thanks!

It won't be difficult at all to FIND tickets, problem is they're going to be hella expensive. Right now theyr'e going for about $300 for one. We dont' play alabama very often, and even less so at home (we've played them in Athens twice since the mid-90s), plus with them being the SEC's best team since 08, us likely being undefeated, revenge for 08, etc.....it's gonna be a high ticket. The bridge (right behind the scoreboard of the stadium) will have tickets abound. Scalpers will be all along baxter and lumpkin street as well. Just depends on how much you want to pay.

I've always wondered this: do people watch the game from that bridge, or is it blocked off?

One cannot see the field from the bridge

Some people do who couldn't end up getting tickets, but you can only see about 20 yards or so on the opposite end of the field. I just googled and foudn this random picture. I think they keep that smaller sidewalk off limits for emergencies or something so you'd have to stand up on the guardrail where this kid is. You can see that the field view is quite limited.

BUT, for the bama game they will be lined up along that rail, just to say they saw the game.

Yeah seeing it now it kinda sucks. But it beats not seeing the game at all.
