I think the real head scratcher in the OP is aTm. Sure, they didn't land some kids but they still finished in the top 15, right?

The question is it defined by just today, or by the whole class?

For us today went just as planned so I don't see how we are losers, but overall I could see how one might see us missing on guys who were reported to be heavy leans and seeing it as a disappointment. All that (Sheffield, Lodge, Hill, etc) was decided before today though.

Same pretty much goes for UF. They were a clear winner today but overall their class isn't really up to their standards

Most important position for Chavis' scheme.

that's a fair assessment.

I was looking at classes as a whole.

LSU had a great class and a good day.

Glad to see LSU addressed their most glaring need, QB... Oh wait!

You got beat by Jordan Jefferson and Anthony Jennings. Let that sink in.

Just based on what was posted here for the high hopes at ATM I would have to say they fell to loser.

I don't follow recruiting nearly as much as a lot of the people on this board, so I can't really comment on what was being said/rumors. All I know is that as of today we signed a great class.

It's not necessarily about the rankings, but about the needs of the program. I think Sumlin did a good job addressing those needs.

The scary thing about the SEC is, that as good as our class was, everybody elses was as well.

We're happy with a very good transition year class that fills a bunch of needs. Not sure how you can ask for much more. Not many schools have had higher recruiting rankings than UF over the last 4 years, it's not like we are devoid of players on campus.

Yeah, I'm not bitching about our class at all. Considering where we were at not long ago with Mack decommitting and Murray wavering I am plenty happy.

But seeing the talented CBs who went elsewhere does hurt

3 5*s in key positions. Good 4* defenders. Overall a great class. If that's losing, then I'll take it.

The biggest winners are the day, IMO, were Auburn (even if Byron Cowart signs with Florida) and UCLA.

Both racked up...

We got a 5* DT. How the frick did we lose? Sure how we finished out was disappointing considering where we were in july, but as of last night, this is exactly what was going to happen

You can't just switch over to a random non-247 recruiting site to talk about your class. you have to let us know. so we can ignore the coming statement.

I know AU was wanting all three of the guys that were choosing between them and Florida.

Many on here were hoping they all wanted to play together - do you guys feel a bit disappointed it didn't fall that way? Getting the #1 dude and so many 4* guys is great though.

Considering LSU lost its DC and Brick barely a month ago and still finishes with the #5 24/7 composite class = HUGE WIN for LSU. Coach O, Grimes and Steele deserve major, major props for closing so strong.

^True this.
After Chavis left I was expecting far worse. Today was a good day. Next season is looking promising with our current momentum and I'm usually a negatiger.

A&M fans have already said this is good day by their standards. One of the wealthiest programs in the country's most fertile high school football regions shouldn't be settling.

We can't win.

We have high expectations and its "why the hell did you expect so much Aggie? Yall aren't even the third best team in your own state."

We have reasonable expectations and its "Why they hell are your expectations so low Aggie? Any program that exists in Texas with that much (non athletic) money should have a top five class not a top 15 class."

The game is rigged.

It is the same way with Chavis. Every Aggie fan on here, except out version of a Tenn fan (who even rocks Tenn swag now), has had reasonable expectations about what Chavis can do next year. But to hear LSU fans talk we expect a top 10 defense immediately.

Someone could get a PHD writing about the psychological projection that is on this board.
