I was really shocked that Mack was so excited about an AU offer. Calling it a "Game changer" may have been phony but I don't think so. That said, a bird in hand is still better than two in the bush.

Its a long way to go til signing day, but from the outside looking in I would say Daron Payne to Bama right now. Auburn may be his dream school but it sounds like his head is telling him Bama.
That said, I wouldn't be surprised if AU gets 2 out of the 3 of Thompson Mack and Payne, especially after your DL shows out again this year.

Most of Mack's boys are going to A&M and after helping recruit all of them there hes gonna flip to Auburn. Makes sense.

I think we got a shot. It sounded like he needed time to build a relationship with the coaches before anything happens though.

You guys landed Adams,Lawson and Daniels coming off a 3 win season, now you think mediocre seasons from these other schools is going to put you in the drivers seat for players that nobody outside of AU homers has given a single prediction to?

you don't need me to tell you recruiting is fluid... IMO, we probably don't pull mack, but it sounds like we're a solid #2 right now regardless.

The key will be getting him back to campus a few more times throughout the summer and keeping his interest. He flirts with other schools then seems to get bored and loses interest. After a few months he gets bored with A&M, strikes it up with another school, rinse and repeat. I'm not going to try to predict it though since we've been burned plenty in the past and he could do anything

Yeah I remember when he was coming to BR with his family to watch LSU knock off A&M with his best friend Nick Brousette. One of those never happened.
