No, he didn't. That is the single biggest reason UF struggled under Muschamp. UF's OL was the worst in the conference for the last 4-5 years. Absolutely putrid. I don't think Driskell (or Brantley, either) would have struggled near as much if they had even an average OL.

Our line this year was fine, even with such lack in bodies. Summers actually coached them up. He was the only coach retained. There has been no development of players in Florida NONE in O, there has been development in DB play. Fowler and VHIII came already ready.

There's a lot of ignorance going on up in this thread.

Really? Name me one OLineman in Blue & Orange when it was 3rd and 2 (and every SEC game comes down to 3rd & 2) that UF could hang it's hat on would whip his man and root out the needed yardage.

And the Gators' pass pro over the last 4-5 years has been embarassingly incompetent. Simple E-T stunts would walk in unopposed and hammer the poor Gator QBs.

Where are people getting this idea Muschamp was signing these monster offensive line classes?

Hell, if McElwain gets Ivey and one or two other non-commited linemen, this would be a better offensive line class than any Boom signed in his time here- Muschamp left us with 8 scholarship linemen.

The OP has pretty much guaranteed that Ancrum will be a consistent, disruptive presence in Tennessee's backfield. This is how the football gods work.

Now granted, I don't keep up with UF's program/roster like you do. But I just checked 247, and UF signed 12 OL the past two classes. Why are there only 8 left?

2 injury retirements, 1 juco (good player, definite NFL sleeper for practice squad development in Trenton Brown); 1 transfer.

It's amazing that for all his talk about the SEC being a line of scrimmage league, Muschamp Muschamp undeniably leaves behind a roster with more holes and arguably (definitely according to executing ratings) less overall talent than the one he inheirited.

remains to be seen. florida has to reassert itself in state. fsu is killing them recruiting wise. this has been cyclical and its fsu's time.

We had higher ranked recruiting classes than FSU in both 2012 and 2013. Muschamp's unstable situation killed UF's recruiting, give McElwain a full year and recruiting will be back to where it usually is

Mac & crew have been fighting an uphill battle since they stepped on campus. I'll judge their recruiting abilities next year when they have more than 5 weeks to build relationships with recruits. If they don't sign a top 10 class in 2016, I'll be worried.

McElwain/Nussmeier(sp)/Shannon know what neeeds to be done in SEC recruiting and given time, I think they get it done.

2012 class is misleading IMO. It did not get depth at needed positions like OL and WR.

It's interesting to me. Oregon State is going after Florida projects hard. Baldwin, who who was the CSU coordinator, is the coordinator there. Did Colorado State build some kind of pipeline there?
