Of the 11 players in the state of Mississippi rated 4* or above, 4 are from either Starkville or counties bordering Starkville.

5* DE Jeffrey Simmons, Macon 35.2 miles from State
4* WR AJ Brown, Starkville
4* OT Scott Lashley, West Point 22.1 miles from State
4* DE Kobe Jones, Starkville

All four of these players are uncommitted, with State still in the running. All 4 could end up Bulldogs on NSD. However, there's also a chance that none could. 3 of the 4 are pursued by Ole Miss and Bama, while Lashley visited LSU this weekend.

This has potential to be a devastating failure for State. Rarely is so much SEC talent conentrated in a school's backyard. This should be a home run class for Mullen and co, but it looks likely he won't capitalize.

I think Bama stands to be the primary beneficiary of this, fwiw.

Just my opinion. I think Bama is gonna clean up on NSD. Not sure how that's a jinx on Ole Miss.

Dumbasses are the ones who think saying out load you are going to win or get a recruit actually affects the outcome

I don't see the problem here? State will get 2/4

State has 1 4* currently committed.

LSU is first in the rankings right now for running up the score in Louisiana. There are what? 21 4* in Louisiana this year? How would you feel if LSU only got 6 of them and pulled 1 out of state kid?

Also the Chris jones situation was screwed up the same way, the cat gets out of the bag and the state people know they are behind....

So yes, it has before and could again.
