Damn. I guess Skal gets all of his trophies now.

Comments like this must indicate you think Simmons is a 7' cyborg who Lebron calls for tips on how to play the game. Who do you think you are breh?!?

I'll give it 48 hours before someone jumps in and says Jones will screw him up because our 6-deep roster didn't make the Final 4

I like how some people try and convince themselves Simmons isnt a great player.

Only played against the tippy top competition the last few years (not only on AAU cirucit, but his own high school team...and camps, all-star games, etc) and dominated all the time, but nah, he wont be that good.

This seems to be the general consensus for the Tiger's fanbase.

Some players are bust after dominating high school. I've been saying I see Shabaz written all over him.

Sorry, forgot you were the resident basketball expert just because you started caring about basketball since Howland got hired.

What on earth makes Simmons a potential bust? He has completely dominated every level he's played at and looked better than everyone else.

I'd be willing to bet my left nut and 100k that I've kept up with recruiting and basketball in general far more than you and most of this board. I'm the rare type in the south who's favorite sport isn't football.

You called Shabazz a bust, your opinion doesnt mean much after that alone. LOL @ averaging 18 points per game the only season in college and being a lottery pick a bust.

not to mention him and Shabazz are about nothing alike.

Relies on his athleticism too much. He is a decent ball handler, but thinks he is better than he is and wants to play more as a guard. He's able to do the things he does in high school because he is a superior athlete.

He could very well develop into a better player as the season goes along and in his rookie year in the NBA much the way Wiggins did. But if you remember, Wiggins didn't live up to all his hype in college but has made a solid NBA player.

You definitely didn't watch UCLA play that season.

HE has dominated the top players in this class, you dont think he's got quite a bit of SKILL too? The dude is the size of a PF with the ball handling ability of a GOOD PG. When you can average 6 assists a game on top of nearly 30 points a game playing the best competition across the country i think he's getting by on way more than just athletcism.

If you love basketball you should automatically love Ben Simmons' game.

Thats an article about him being a bust on the NBA level.

18 points a game your only year in college is not a "Bust" - sorry. And I saw him play in college, dude was very good. Not sure why they're harping on his assists, he was never that kind of player.

Literally a guy this size with this type of ball handling ability and vision comes across maybe once a decade or so, dude is a unique talent.

I am not disputing Simmons talents. What I have an issue is you don't think another player could rank just as good or could be better then Simmons. But continue deflecting, both are damn good and accept it.

No, it's not at all. Just about every consistent basketball poster in Simmons threads are elated at the publicity he's giving LSU, his potential, and how great of a guy he is. his potential is through the roof, so why does it bother you and a couple of others to the point you have to derail every thread with an LSU reference when people get excited about Simmons?

Perhaps you should turn on your sarcasm meter too when a Lebron reference is dropped, because it clearly bothers you that we're excited about what he's capable of
