I wasn't aware that Georgia had won anything since the Coaches' Trophy began to be awarded in 1986.

There was no crystal football trophy for finishing #1 in the coaches poll back then. I think 1991 or 1992 was the first year they started giving them out.

Because it's part of Alabama's history. Even a big portion of any official visit includes a tour of the Byrant Museum, as well as a tour of the "hall of champions" in the Mal Moore Athletic Complex.

Maybe Georgia had one made for 1980, I don't know. However, the following picture is the present Coaches' Trophy (awarded since 1986) and its predecessor.

I'm guessing the programs can pay to have them made because weve got crystal. It represents something pretty old, but on OV's all that hardware mostly just runs together so I guess it's more for effect
